A Texas native, Dr. Smith was born and raised in Houston. He attended Texas A&M University, where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science in BioMedical Science. Matthew Hausenfluke, DPM, is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon at North Texas Foot & Ankle, which has locations in Dallas and Garland, Texas.
Prior to founding North Texas Foot & Ankle, Dr. Hausenfluke spent several years practicing surgical foot and ankle reconstruction at the Foot and Ankle Institute at Monrovia, California, where he participated in the BAJA Project for Crippled Children, spending two years, off and on, serving children in clinics in and around the Mexicali, Mexico, area. During that period, Dr. Hausenfluke spent almost every weekend treating pediatric limb deformities with conservative care and surgical reconstruction. “I got to know the children so well,” comments Hausenfluke, “I could recognize their cries from another room. The team spent seven days going from river village to river village, establishing daily clinics to care for the needs of the Brazillian natives. “I grew a new respect for those who live off the land, and I truly admire the people of the Amazon Basin.”

Michael V. Tran, DPM, is a board-certified podiatrist and wound care specialist in Arlington and Dallas, Texas. During the last year of his residency, Dr. De Yoe served as chief resident and was awarded a one-year fellowship in reconstructive surgery of the ankle and foot. During his fellowship, he received additional training in microsurgery, arthroscopy, and advanced surgical reconstruction of pediatric and adult deformities. Dr. De Yoe joined the Podiatric Surgical Associates in 1998 after his training. He enjoys teaching and is a clinical instructor educating surgeons both here and abroad. He has authored several peer-reviewed journal articles and textbooks, presented original research, and lectured at national and international surgical conferences.
Dr. De Yoe is board certified in foot surgery and specialized certification in reconstructive surgery of the rear foot and ankle. His special interests include pediatric and adult reconstructive surgery, sports medicine, and ankle ligament reconstruction. Dr. De Yoe understands how having foot and ankle problems can affect your well-being. He has had two ankle surgeries himself. For this reason, he knows the importance of decisive treatment and aggressive rehabilitation.
