On Monday I left a message requesting that an Rx refill for year's supply of minoxidil be sent to the Safeway pharmacy on San Antonio Road in Mountain View. I explicitly requested a return phone call confirming that the Rx had been sent. I received no return phone call.
On Tuesday morning I left a second message requesting a phone call confirming that the Rx had been sent. I received no phone call.
On Tuesday mid-afternoon I spoke to Adriana. She told me that not one but TWO Rxs had been sent to the Safeway pharmacy. She told me that it is the policy of the practice not to confirm Rx orders. The Rx refill/procedure scheduling greeting clearly tells patients
We will be calling you back just as soon as possible.
The practice should honor explicit requests for a confirming return call. It also needs to change its Rx refill/procedure scheduling greeting so that patients are not mislead into expecting a callback.
On the bright side, Adriana handled my third call expertly.

Dr. Neal Scott is one of the very best in his field and I'm so glad I was a patient of his. He is a remarkable man who has nothing but excellence to provide.
He will be sorely missed.
