New to the state of Texas. Didn’t know who to consult about my back issue. I did some research and found Dr. Dickerman. My initial visit was a consultation with his in-house chiropractor who thought it would be best for me to seShow moree him after I received an MRI. Saw Dr. Dickerman today. His entire staff is awesome. He actually put me at ease. Going to these doctors in the past have not been a great experience. He recommended a test that I have never gotten before. He also told me that I could continue to be active and work out and we would devise a plan once he had the results. So excited for a fresh set of eyes and a doctor that is also active and athletic.

Rob Dickerman, DO, PhD, FACOS, is a spine fellowship-trained neurosurgeon with extensive training on both conservative (nonsurgical) and surgical options for treating patients in Frisco, Texas, and the surrounding area with acute spinal conditions. He is the Director of Spine Surgery at Medical Center Frisco and is an Associate Professor at The University of North Texas Health Science Center.
Dr. Dickerman has treated numerous elite professional athletes with conservative (nonsurgical) modalities with high success rates. When surgery is required, he is trained in minimally invasive spinal techniques which minimize damage to surrounding tissues and speeds recovery for return to work or sport.
Dr. Dickerman has been voted as one of America’s Top Neurosurgeons year after year, including from 2011 to 2021. In American Way magazine, Dr. Dickerman was voted by his peers as one of America’s Top Doctors. In 2011, Newsweek named Dr. Dickerman as one of the Top 15 Leaders in Neurosurgery.
Dr. Dickerman has a brain tumor fellowship from The National Institutes of Health (NIH) and trained under world-renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Ed Oldfield. He has a particular interest in primary and metastatic brain tumors. He is a member of the American Brain Tumor Association and The Pituitary Society. His extensive research in brain tumors and neuroendocrinology continues today. Dr. Dickerman is Board Certified in Neurological Surgery through the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery and has also been awarded a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Dickerman has patients visit from all over the world. He offers a comprehensive treatment plan, including image-guided brain surgery, postoperative chemotherapy, and radiation with the most advanced technology. This provides the patient with the most advanced treatments in the country in one local area. For patients from out-of-town/state, there are discounted rates at local hotels available through the office.
He served on the North American Spine Society committee for continuing education and continues to help train residents, fellows, and surgeons from around the country on new spine techniques. Dr. Dickerman works closely with several companies as an expert consultant on spinal biomechanics and improving surgical techniques.
For spine patients, there is a comprehensive treatment plan designed for the initial visit. Each spine patient is unique and can be provided complete and comprehensive spine care. This includes physical medicine and rehabilitation, injections, physical therapy, pain management, chiropractic, and surgery. Approximately 90% of the patients can be treated successfully without surgery. If surgery is required, Dr. Dickerman can provide minimally invasive spine surgery which decreases muscle and soft tissue damage while speeding recovery and return to activities. Dr Dickerman has been in my corner for nine years. He treats symptoms not x-rays. Great Doc.
Not sure whether Rob dismissed me as a patient or not (If I need further help) ?? It was hard to tell by the way he ended the appointment. I was given a referral to a pain management doctor and two prescriptions.
This was a great experience considering it was in relation to an aggravated back problem. Forms were completed and returned via email. On arrival there was no further paperwork. We were quickly in, no waiting. Doc. Dickerson was friendly and to the point. I received an assessment of MRI findings and a referral from injection treatment. His first solution then, was NOT surgery. IMO this was the quickest and most satisfying appointment ever. Yes, I’ll highly recommend Doc. Dickerson and his team.

Great office staff, Dr. Dickerman is straight forward, yet down to earth, and has different views on medical issues. Not much wait time. I enjoyed my visit with Dr. D because, he is a little like I am about adrenaline rushes, and taking risks in life. Though, his views are different, but interesting and provoke thought.
I have ALWAYS had a great experience with Dr. Dickerman and his office. I wish he ran Workers Compensation so the patient could get the care they need!
Went to find whether I needed surgery on my neck that was all. He said no and that was that!
Office staff was great. Nurse practitioner was excellent. Dr Dickerman never actually sat down during my visit, never showed me my images and offered explanation about my condition. There was just general discussion about my problem when I was clearly there for a serious surgical consultant, referred by another doctor. The visit felt off from the very beginning and it was a waste of my time.

Dr. Dickerman takes time to hear about your issues making you not to feel rush. His office staff are so nice and recognize you when you come into the office. His PA. Amy is so caring and makes sure to take care of any issues you have.
