Dr. Aida Ramos is a veteran, having joined Nirvana Healthcare Management Services fifteen years ago, in 2007. She is based in the North Ward Medical Arts (NWMA) location as an internal medicine DNP. Dr. Ramos earned her doctorate in nursing practice (DNP) in 2020 and her master’s degree in nursing (MSN) in 2007 from the New Jersey University of Medicine and Dentistry (NJUMD). Previous employment includes a seventeen-year tenure as Unit Resource Leader in an acute cardiac unit at NYU Langone Medical Center (NYC).
Dr. Ramos manages twenty to twenty-five patients in an internal medicine practice for adult patients diagnosed with multiple chronic conditions and supervises three medical assistants (MAs). Responsibilities include patient assessments, referrals for hospital admission, and post-discharge follow-ups. She holds ANCC medical-surgical and cardiovascular certifications. As a member of the Expert Panel ANCC Review Board, she has written questions for the ANCC cardiovascular exam. Dr. Ramos is proficient in Spanish as well as IMS and EPIC systems.
Dr. Aida Ramos characterizes her professional experience at Nirvana as fulfilling and considers herself privileged to treat not only the patients who came to her at the beginning of her career but also the children and grandchildren of these patients. “I am grateful for the rapport I have with my colleagues and the ability to empower my patients to participate in their health care.”
Dr. Ramos fondly remembers one patient in her care, managing several chronic conditions for thirteen years. “During in-person visits and phone follow-ups, she and I had connected on both professional and personal levels. After her retirement, the patient was moving out of state. During her final visit, she cried as she hugged me and thanked me for my support. I was touched that I had made such a difference in her life!”
