Physical therapist and Certified Lymphedema Therapist Geraldine (Gigi) Malvas and the team identify the root cause of a patient’s concerns before delving into individualized care planning.

At Step Up Physical Therapy and Rehab, patients enter a warm and welcoming environment where they can feel at ease and speak candidly about their concerns. Gigi Malvas and the team help patients set specific goals that they work toward with versatile physical therapy practices like neuromechanical acupuncture, myofascial release, the McKenzie method, total motion release, myokinesthetic treatment, and kinesiotaping.

The team specializes in evaluating injuries and conditions like tendinitis, neck and back pain, shoulder pain, and neurological disorders before providing the appropriate care. They routinely see patients preparing for surgery, recovering from surgery, or recovering from auto accidents, workplace, and sports injuries. They also specialize in lymphedema therapy for swelling.

As a certified Pilates instructor, Gigi Malvas often includes Pilates in patients’ care plans to decrease lower back pain, improve core muscle strength, and increase flexibility, among other benefits. She helps patients understand the ways Pilates improves their overall function and strength.
