My family of 5 have been patients at CFP since 2005 and love this group. They are caring and take the time to address any and all concerns as well as cover all the bases. Each and every physician there is dedicated and supportive.Show more Upon our last visit I had mentioned in passing to one of the physicians some of the prior trouble I had, my shock and distaste as in Nov 2019-Feb 2020 after not having been able to get any acute appointments I had to take my son to an urgent care. Within 10 minutes of this conversation, I was approached by the office manager who allowed me to express my concerns. She was most helpful and assuring that this would not happen again. I left feeling content and like my Confidence in CFP had been restored. On a side note, Rhonda and Katie in the referral Department have been so helpful all these years as our insurance requires mega referral work to get anything approved. They have gone above and beyond to get us approval in all of our endeavors.
Dr. Thomas, beyond a shadow of a doubt, is one of the kindest, most professional and knowledgeable physicians I've ever dealt with. His reassuring and approachable bedside manner always leaves me well cared for and informed. He Show moreresponds with answers that are both relatable and easily understood. He always takes his time with medical decisions and resolutions, explaining along the way in layman's terms. Dr. Thomas has been my PCP for 30+ years and I, literally, trust him with my life! I highly recommend any professional at CFP, they are a wonderful medical office.
In 2006, cultivated and courteous physician Akila Balasubramanian, MD, joined CFP Physicians Group providing geriatric care, aesthetic services, primary care, and more in Casselberry, Florida.
Dr. Bala has extensive medical experience and education and completed her residency in family medicine at the University of South Florida.
Dr. Bala specializes in geriatrics and started the Assisted Living Division at CFP Physicians Group in 2007 to provide top-quality medical care for the elderly in assisted living facilities.
In 2015, Dr. Bala furthered her education and finished her Master of Business Administration degree in health care at the George Washington University.
As well as providing friendly and effective health care, Dr. Bala also enjoys sharing her medical knowledge and being a volunteer faculty member at the UCF College of Medicine.
Dr. Bala’s clinical interests include medicine, women’s health, and aesthetic medicine.
Away from the medical field, Dr. Bala is an avid runner and enjoys running local half marathons and being with her family.

Great practice. They got me in as I was sick. The nurse tested me for Covid/RSV and flu. Dr Bala is so caring, gave me my negative results and my diagnosis of bronchitis. They called in my meds which I started that day.
I was made to feel an immediate part of the family! And was not judged for taking so long to get a doctor. I was encouraged, and made to feel at home; and treated with respect. I am so thankful I found this practice.
