I have been seeing Dr. Almdale for a few years now. She did my hysterectomy last year after I had been in endless pain. She always listens with concern, is very thorough and is incredibly compassionate. I have been so happy with mShow morey experiences that I’ve had and she always makes me feel comfortable. She goes above and beyond to make sure that I have what I need and to make sure that my needs are being met.
Dr. Almdale was absolutely fantastic! I typically feel extremely anxious when going to the doctor, but she was so wonderful to work with. Dr. Almdale put me at ease immediately and was extremely understanding when I talked about pShow moreast trauma and PTSD. It was the least anxious I've ever felt before or after a doctor's appointment, and it's because of Dr. Almdale and the fantastic staff at Southdale OBGYN.
Annalise Almdale, MD, is a board-certified Physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Southdale ObGyn. The practice has two locations with offices in Edina and Burnsville, Minnesota.
She received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Hope College in Holland, Michigan, followed by a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Indiana-Indianapolis (IUPUI). She completed her residency at Southern Illinois University (SIU) in Carbondale.
Dr. Almdale firmly believes that there must be an overarching trust between a doctor and a patient. Because if there isn't trust in a relationship, it won't be very fruitful.
She feels blessed to have patients trust her. She understands a gynecological visit is not something people look forward to. So, if she can get to know a little more about them and build trust, it helps. She says, “When patients are comfortable enough to hug me and almost welcome me into their family, I feel like I’ve made a difference.”
Her goal is to help patients be the best person they can be — in health and other areas of life.
Recently married and new to Minnesota, Dr. Almdale is settling into her life with yoga, walking her dog, hiking, and exploring her new state. The oldest of three sisters, it’s no surprise she pursued medicine. She is a third-generation physician, following her grandfather, both parents, and OBGYN uncles. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and traveling.

Dr Almdale is one of my favorite people on this earth. She provided me extraordinary care during both of my pregnancies. She delivered both my babies and was so encouraging and great during my labors. She is kind and doesn't rush through appointments. My family is her #1 fan.

Dr. Almdale, is thorough, gentle, asks the appropriate questions if she needs to dig a little deeper into history, whether it’s physical or emotional history. Thankful to have her and the practice behind her that supports excellent OB/GYN care throughout a lifetime. The front desk receptionist to the nurses behind the scenes. Kindness, and thoroughness mixed in with a little humor made my annual visit comfortable.

Got in super fast and I truly appreciated that. Staff was amazing. Dr didn’t know me but did help me.
Dr. Almdale not only is very socially intelligent but also is thorough and knowledgeable. She asked more questions than any doctor ever has. Even hard questions and she looked me in the eye. She knew about things I didn’t expect her to. The appointment was not rushed at all and I got the sense she really cared. I think I found a needle in a haystack.
Scheduler worked hard to get a quick appt and called me back when one opened up sooner. Ultrasound specialist was friendly and efficient. The doctor was thorough, informative, and talked me through everything she was doing.
Very nice physician. I would definitely make an appointment with her again after the retirement of my previous doctor.

Dr Almdale is such an amazing doctor, I have been seeing her throughout all of my pregnancies. She is such a kind woman, great at what she dose and really do care about her patients.
Nice dr. But we forgot to take my blood pressure check a 2nd time. 1st reading was unusually low at 110/70, I think. Mine is usually somewhat higher at 140/84.
