I waited over 40 minutes in the room for the doctor to come with just a paper sheet covering me. I was cold and nervous as I had a concern and that’s why I was there. Finally I went to the door with the paper sheet covering me anShow mored stuck my head out to find out if perhaps they forgot I was in the room. I had a nurse tell that the Dr had an emergency surgery and just got back and would see me soon. I completely understand that things happen that may delay the doctor and I respect that. It would have been nice if someone would have communicated with me and let me know what the delay was and acknowledge me versus leaving me sit there without knowing what was going on. My doctor was wonderful, thoughtful and caring.
Everyone was pleasant and professional. My physician, Dr Swigert, was personalble and actively listened to my concerns and experience. She acknowledged and validated what I was experiencing. I felt confident in her knowledge of HRShow moreT for me and what my body needs. However, I felt a bit rushed with the intake paperwork. I never finished it and there was GYN and family history I didn't complete which feels important. I do plan to follow up with Dr Swigert in 6 weeks. Thank you for a pleasant experience! Annelise Swigert, MD, is a board-certified OBGYN at Southdale ObGyn.The practice has two locations with offices in Edina and Burnsville, Minnesota.
She received a Bachelor of Arts in French Literature at Wellesley College in Boston, Massachusetts, and a Doctor of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. She served as Chief Resident at the University of Minnesota and Hennepin County Medical Center.

“I’ve wanted to be a doctor for as long as I can remember,” says Dr. Swigert. “But it wasn’t until I arrived at medical school that I realized my passion for Obstetrics.”
“At Northwestern University, I worked closely with a maternal-fetal medicine specialist as she researched HIV transmission in pregnancy during the early 1990s. It helped me realize that we are always caring for and making decisions about two patients – mom and baby and that we can change lives”.
She is especially interested in medically complicated pregnancies. She says, “ Obstetrics is about making pregnancy a safe and healthy time of your life.”
Contraceptive and hormonal management from the teen years through peri-menopause is also of great interest. Counseling women of all ages about safe options for pregnancy prevention and treatment of hormonally-based symptoms is an integral part of her practice.
Fluent in French, Dr. Swigert enjoys using this skill in the office and abroad. She was recently able to use it on a medical mission trip to Haiti, where she cared for young women and performed surgical procedures.
When not in the office or hospital, Dr. Swigert loves to travel, try innovative food and wine, and spend time with her two teenage children.

Dr. Swigert was through and clear. She discussed options for my care with us. I did feel that she had preferences about my plan of care.
I have been seeing Dr Swigert for 12 years. She is wonderful doctor. She has been with me through pregnancy. birth, and now as I start menopause. She tells it to you straight and is there for you when you need her. She is caring and a great doctor.
She is very knowledgeable about you and gives you information to help you if you have and questions or problems. She follows up with any issues you have Very friendly, will continue her as my gynecologist.
