About April Barker, LMFT

April Barker, LMFT, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with two decades of experience serving adults, children, and families. Her years of experience in the field, clinical license, and her Master’s degree from Alliant International University in San Diego make her the distinguished Clinical Director of Ocean Psychiatry's Intensive Outpatient Program.  Her extensive background includes working in diverse settings such as wraparound services, foster care, military families, intensive outpatient programs, community agencies, and case management. April employs a client-centered approach in her practice and has a wealth of experience addressing issues like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post-partum depression and anxiety, ADHD, relationship problems, parenting challenges, life stage transitions, and trauma. In addition to her professional work, April has dedicated countless hours volunteering with families, children, and within the mental health system, underscoring her commitment to supporting her community.

Our Clinical Director of the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) plays a multifaceted role that combines direct client care with supervisory responsibilities. This position is crucial in ensuring high-quality treatment and professional development within the comprehensive virtual program.

Her hobbies consist of hiking, reading, volunteering, attending her children's sports and activities, and spending time with her pets.
