About Dr. Arthelma Chenée Tyson, MD

Dr. A. Chenee Tyson, M.D., RPVI, FACS, is dual board-certified in vascular surgery and general surgery. With a career focus in vascular surgery, she specializes in the management of a wide range of vascular conditions including, but not limited to: peripheral artery disease, limb salvage, aortic aneurysms, carotid artery disease, and venous disorders. As a Rochester Early Medical Scholar (REMS), she earned her undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Brain and Cognitive Sciences and a minor in Spanish in 2006 followed by her medical degree with a distinction in community service in 2010. She completed her general surgery training with her chief year at the University of Colorado in 2015 and vascular surgery fellowship at Staten Island University Hospital in 2017.  

Dr. Tyson is dedicated to providing excellence in patient care through the medical and surgical management of complex vascular conditions including using innovative, minimally invasive techniques. She has a passion for vascular education and community outreach. Dr. Tyson was a William J. von Liebig research fellow at Harvard University in 2009 and has since presented research locally and nationally. She strives to remain clinically abreast and practice evidence based medicine. She is a member of various national medical societies and was also Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery for Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine while serving the region during a period of her practice.  She also takes pride in involving patients in their healthcare decision-making and in maintaining open communication with other providers in the patient care team. She is happy to come on board at PACE and hopes to further community outreach efforts for the increased awareness, prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment of vascular diseases.
