I don’t write reviews, but for the team at Proactive Spine, I thought I’d make an exception. They’ve made a huge difference in my life! The spinal care is first rate, but it doesn’t stop there. I’ve learned functional training Show moretechniques with tools they provide. I’ve received laser therapy and deep tissue massage that’s been life changing and above all is their level of concern. Not only do they care, but they are extremely knowledgeable, cost effective and actively advocate for you, whether that be to your referring doctor or to other specialist that you may need. As I recover from my spinal injury, I look back at the effective treatment I’ve received and have to announce that the helpful team at Proactive Spine should definitely be your first choice for your spinal care (even if you have to drive a ways)!
Austin McMillin, DC provides chiropractic care at ProActive Spine Care, where he serves residents of Tacoma, South Puget Sound, and University Place from his office in Fircrest, Washington. Dr. McMillin is known for his ability to combine personal attention and individualized care with his expertise in advanced chiropractic techniques.
Dr. McMillin specializes in whiplash and spine injuries and provides injury evaluation and impairment ratings. He also offers sports and performance training and has a state-of-the-art functional rehabilitation center in his Fircrest facility. His comprehensive approach to patient care also incorporates relaxing or therapeutic massage and nutrition counseling.
Dr. McMillin graduated Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic West. He was offered one of only two residencies, as well as an adjunct faculty position at PCCW. During his residency, Dr. McMillin developed a Back School and a lumbar spine rehabilitation program for patients at the Palmer Chiropractic Outpatient Clinic.
Since receiving his Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. McMillin has completed post-graduate certification in chiropractic and general rehabilitation and a certification program in complex case review work from the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners.

I came to Dr. MCMILLIN with debilitating pain in my lower back. I was super worried how I was going to be able to recover. This issue I was having had gone on more than a year. I have seen MCMILLIN 4 weeks now. I am about 50% Better. I am able to walk better without shooting pain down my leg on a constant bases. My mobility is much better. I am so pleased ! McMillian also has been helping me with a pain solution program. LAZER therapy. It treats the damaged tissue around the spine. OMG! This has helped so much as well as the CHIROPRACTIC care. The staff and Dr McMillan have been super informative the entire process. The front staff has gone over in detail with me on my new health insurance Medicare. So no surprises ! Dr McMillan each visit explains what, why and how at each visit. Where we are showing progress and the next step. I am super blessed to have a knowledgeable chiropractor that genuinely cares about my well being and has the in depth knowledge to help me.

I was nervous going in to the appointment not entirely knowing what to expect. Dr. McMillin did a great job explaining everything and laying out a good plan. The intro exam was very thorough and left me excited and relieved to be working with him and his team.
