Perfect, My visit was for my annual wellness exam. I had a couple complicated questions and Dr. West took time to work through both of those with me. Never once did I feel rushed or unheard. It was as if I was the only patienShow moret being seen that day. I probably ruined his schedule but I whole heartedly appeciated the extra time he took in listening , explaining , and calming my frazzled nerves. It is not every day that one comes across a physician that is not only knowledgeable, but kind and compassionate. He and his staff have their patients' best interests at their very core. Dr.West has been taking care of my family and I for the last 16 years. Through cancer with my son to birth of my youngest. I appreciate the time he spends helping me with my complicated family genetics. He really cares for his paShow moretients and it shows in his thoroughness and genuine bed side manner. With his knowledge and support my son is alive today after battling a rare cancer at the age of 12. And now helps keep me alive with the necessary treatments I have to endure in order to stay alive and healthy because of genetic mutations. Brandon A. West, DO, is a board-certified family medicine specialist and owner of West Family Medicine in Pocatello, Idaho. Since launching the practice in 2005, Dr. West has welcomed the privilege of delivering hundreds of babies throughout Southeastern Idaho and continues to provide high-quality care to patients of all ages.
Born and raised in Idaho, Dr. West attended Idaho State University in Pocatello before moving to Missouri for medical school. After graduating from Kansas City University of Medicine and Bioscience in Kansas City as a doctor of osteopathic medicine with Sigma Sigma Phi honors, he returned to Pocatello to complete his family medicine residency at Idaho State University.
Dr. West knew early on that he wanted to open a full-service family medicine practice in the Pocatello community. At West Family Medicine, he sees infants, children, adolescents, young professionals, pregnant women, and even geriatric patients. Some of the many medical services Dr. West delivers includes obstetrics, dermatology, orthopedics, pediatrics, newborn exams, birth control and family planning, and sports physicals.
As a skilled physician who delivers comprehensive care, Dr. West is actively involved in the medical community. He has served in several positions at Portneuf Medical Center, including chief of family medicine, and he is currently on the Portneuf Quality Alliance Board. Dr. West and his fellow board members strive to shape the future of healthcare in Southeastern Idaho.
Dr. West is passionate about the outdoors. He leads an active lifestyle that includes hiking, skiing, biking, and exploring the Idaho backcountry with his wife and four children. He and his family adore their Pocatello community and are always looking for new ways to lend a helping hand.

I'm always a little nervous about going to the doctor for ANYTHING but Dr. West and his staff were wonderful. I had a vasectomy done. It was one of the quickest and painless procedures I've experienced and the recovery is going great (I'm only 3 days in and still rarely use any over the counter pain meds). I would (and already have) recommend Dr. West and his services to anyone.
