I was tested and given the results of what loosing my hearing really does to the brain. The PA was very informative and gave me hope. I was a little disappointed that Dr. Bryan only does surgeries,and only comes once a month to seShow moree his patients,but he is the one who helped me years ago realize of how, and when to decide I needed hearing aids. At that time, they had tables and I was sitting on it. He came in, sat beside me and educated me on what my tests showed. He was so caring and it was such a pleasure to finally find a doctor who was one who followed his Hippocratic oath. He truly was a blessing to me and told me when I was ready, to go buy the hearing aids and let him make sure that they were the correct ones and how to really wear and enjoy them. His encouragement I will never forget. He is one in a million to me, and I will continue to pray for him. Thank you to all who made my visit, one I was scared about, a pleasure and relieved my mind on this new path that I must take now. You truly are good examples of what a practice is all about, namely serving and helping those in need.God bless all of you!
Took my 9 year old for the first time and I was very pleased! My son has extreme anxiety in Dr settings and is very shy. The Dr was extremely kind and tried to make conversation even though my son was a bit closed off. He was thorShow moreough in explaining what was going to be done and even showed some of the equipment to help ease my sons anxiety. Even though my son didn’t say much during the appointment, when we left he kept telling me it wasn’t so bad and everyone was really nice to him! I’m extremely happy and look forward to future appointments to finally get my son some much needed relief!! Dr & staff are fantastic!
Bryan Smedley, DO, FACOOS, is an ear, nose, and throat doctor at Oasis Ear, Nose, and Throat, located in Surprise, Arizona. Dr. Smedley has been practicing in the Phoenix valley since January of 2017.
Born and raised in Layton, Utah, Dr. Smedley earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University in 2005. He completed medical school at Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010, where he was selected into a pre-doctoral teaching Fellowship in Osteopathic Manual Medicine. He completed his residency training at Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 2015. He served as chief otolaryngology resident for two years (2013-2015) and was honored as Resident of the Year in 2015, which included over 120 residents and fellows from 11 different training programs. After residency, Dr. Smedley stayed in Oklahoma and practiced in a private setting for two years before moving to Arizona.
Dr. Smedley also speaks Mandarin Chinese, and he served as a volunteer service missionary in Melbourne, Australia (1999-2001). He and his wife lived in Beijing, China, in 2002. They love raising their children and family pets.
Dr. Smedley fell in love with the field of ENT at the age of 11, when he underwent an ENT procedure. After his recovery, he felt so much better that he said, “I want to do that for people.” He loves to provide all areas of otolaryngology care for patients of all ages, including children.

It was so nice to have a doctor listen to my concerns and have a diagnosis during my apt. I will be having surgery for chronic sinusitis and am glad Dr. Smedley will be doing it. I’m sure the recovery will be challenging, but will hopefully decrease my terrible breathing and give me back some quality of life! Thanks Dr. Smedley!
