I am so grateful to have found Dr. Bonzon. He truly feels like a partner in the care and progression of a few back issues I've had. After seeing multiple doctors and getting confusing response (many differing opinions with littlShow moree explanation for course of treatment), I was relieved to first meet Dr. Bonzon. He spent 90 minutes with me, showing me things on my MRI that others had not explained. He could tell from looking at the images exactly where my pain would be and he was right. Up until that point, I had received blank feedback when I described my pain and was seeking to understand if it was indeed related to my back. While my road is long and there is no quick fix, I am grateful to have the compassionate, wise direction of Dr. Bonzon.
The staff that I was able to observe appeared to be efficient and easy-going. Dr Bonzon did great job of interviewing me so as to understand my case in enough detail to provide Dr. Bonzon was a good starting place for going into Show moremore detail with me. My subsequent interactions with Dr. Bonzon surpassed my expectations which were already high from talking with my family doctor. Most of all I now feel that I have a chance of repairing back and returning to some level of normality, And I'm looking forward to working with him in the coming months.
Christopher Bonzon, MD, is a board-certified physiatrist at SOAR Spine and Orthopedics in Santa Clara and Redwood City, California.
Dr. Bonzon received his undergraduate degree and master’s from Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. For his medical degree, Dr. Bonzon relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana to study at the Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He then completed postgraduate fellowship training in both interventional sports and spine medicine and diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound before completing an additional fellowship training in spine and sports musculoskeletal medicine at SOAR. He is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Dr. Bonzon currently serves as a sports and spine physician for Santa Clara University athletics and is a former physician for Carolina Performing Arts.
He has presented nationally and locally regarding diagnostic and treatment strategies for neuro-musculoskeletal dysfunction. Dr. Bonzon has co-authored and performed research for published book chapters on interventional ultrasound techniques for musculoskeletal injuries and disorders. He has studied the return of amputees to physically demanding jobs and continues his research alongside caring for his patients at SOAR Spine and Orthopedics.

Five years ago I visited Dr. Bonzon's office referred by Apex with chronic pain. I was impressed by Dr. Bonzon listened to patient very carefully and explained me how injection of medication to work for me. I visited agin with same problem. Dr Bonzon is just great! He assessed the origin of my glute/groin pain and gave me a painless injection to resolve it. On top of being a fabulous physician he is a really nice guy and makes it easy to describe my issues with pain.

Just had my first appointment with Doctor Bonzon, and can’t say enough great things. He was incredibly thoughtful, attentive, and thorough in explaining what the cause of my pain could be and what the treatment plan looks like moving forward. He reviewed a prior MRI with me in great detail. He clearly has deep passion for his discipline and for patient care. I went in feeling bummed that I’ve been plagued with pain for coming up on 4 years, and I left feeling quite hopeful. Very glad to be in Doctor Bonzon’s care.

The team in Redwood City Procedure Center were very efficient in checking in, made sure my medical information & insurance was accurate (2 min.). The surgical team was very organized, patient focused, facility was very clean and squared away. The procedure with Dr Bonzon was great. Dr explained each step in the procedure and reduced my level of anxiety to "0". I was Super Happy with the entire process and the procedure began to reduce the level of pain within a day. I will refer all of my family and friends to Dr Bonzon.
