Dr. Holley is a rare combination of perfectionism and competency who at the same time is so personable. He readily provides clear and detailed explanations about procedures and results and care. His staff is kind and caring and eShow morefficient. I can’t imagine going to any other ophthalmologist anywhere….Butte is so fortunate to have him here. Additionally, the new Copper City Surgery Center is unmatched as an outpatient facility and I hear only the most positive comments about the entire experience from procedure beginning to end. No matter what time you go for an appointment staff are busy. They are always friendly and professional. Before a procedure is done the staff explain what is going to be done. If you have a question you can ask it and it answered Show morewithout any hesitation in a friendly manner. You are never made to feel like you do not know what is wrong. I would recommend Dr. Holley to anyone who thinks there is something wrong. He has helped be tremendously for which I am very grateful and appreciative
Clay Holley, MD, MPH, is a talented and compassionate ophthalmologist on the team of renowned doctors at Rocky Mountain Eye Center. He treats patients at the practice’s location in Butte, Montana, where he specializes in cataract implant surgery and routine eye care.
Dr. Holley graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in physiology from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He earned his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina, after then he received a Master of Public Health degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Dr. Holley completed his internship in internal medicine at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and finished his training with a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
When he’s not treating patients, Dr. Holley like to spend time with his family, hike in the mountains, and fly-fish on the streams and lakes of southwest Montana.

Dr. Holley is a very skilled and competent ophthalmologist. I am pleased with Dr. Sherrill's referral. They are a great team and I have great confidence in them and the skills they provide to their patients!
I was seen early by a tech as I had arrived early. When finished with the exam by the tech, I had to wait a few minutes until Dr. Holley was able to see me. Dr. Holley is very personable and very professional in his contact with me as a patient. I would recommend Dr. Holley to any who asks my opinion of him.
