Dr. Halihan completed undergraduate training at the University of Illinois in Chicago and earned degrees in psychology and biology. In 2004, he graduated from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois. He then completed a two-year surgical residency at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Halihan has specialized training in wound care, diabetic limb salvage, and trauma and reconstructive surgery. He is board-certified in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery.

Dr. Halihan is my 2nd doctor at this practice. (My 1st doctor was amazing &moved for his family). I was nervous at getting a new doctor because my condition has been dismissed for over a decade by other practices, but Dr. Halihan is everything a patient could hope for. He listens, he believes, and he came up with alteration ideas to improve my existing orthotics so I would have a more comfortable walking experience. He truly looks at each patients and thinks "how can I make their lives better". He takes as much time as the patient needs even though he has a packed schedule because they are understaffed. (Thats my nice way of saying hire more doctors upper management). I digress, he never makes you feel rushed and he always does right by the patient. I would highly suggest to anyone looking for a podiatrist that they become a patient of his.

Dr. Halihan is wonderful! Takes his time with you, listens to your problems and concerns. He did my 2nd surgery on my foot. The first one did not go as planned by another Dr. I saw him for the 2nd surgery and he fixed me right up.
