I love Dr Crystal Martin because she gives me insight. For example, I didn't know that it takes two weeks for my blood pressure medication to start working. I didn't realize that my kidneys and my body functions better when my bloShow moreod pressure is at 130/74. When my BP is at 120/80, I'm dizzy and my kidney function lessens. That's very valuable information that helps me out a lot and it's worth the wait as far as I'm concerned. The only downside to seeing her is the wait because she spends quality time with each of her patients. You have to make sure that you don't have any appointments to rush off after seeing her. Again, for me the wait is worth it because she gives me insight concerning improving the function of my kidneys and my overall health. I love Dr Martin for that!!
She is the 1st doctor who listened to me, and recognize that I had been misdiagnosed for over 20 years. People complain about the long wait time to see the doctor… but I don’t mind the long wait because when you speak to her she gShow moreives you her full attention and will answer EVERY question that you have. She even reviewed a case study while speaking with me and made the necessary med changes.

Dr. Gardner-Martin was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical School and completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois Hospital. She returned to Michigan in 1998 to complete her nephrology subspecialty training at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Gardner-Martin joined Hypertension Nephrology Associates, PC in 2000 and has been dedicated to improving medical care in the Detroit metropolitan area. She served as a member and chairperson of the St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital Internal Medicine/Family Practice Quality Assurance Committee, chairperson of the Medical Care Evaluation Committee, and member of the Medical Executive Board. She is presently the Medical Director of several Fresenius Kidney Care hemodialysis units.

Hello, yesterday was my second visit and they were very precise with follow up on test and efficient. However, my appointment was at 1:20. I arrived at 1:05, but wasn’t called back until 2:15. I did not leave until 3:08. I was seen by a clinical doctor in which I’d prefer to see Dr. Martin. But, I was only able to see Dr. Martin for a very short minute because I had to get back home to my 91 year mother who has dementia. I told the care giver I’d only be an hour to an hour and half. Not 2 hours. The appointment time and the inconsistencies with staff following up with prescriptions and PA with other parties would be my only issues. Overall, service is good.
Excellent doctors who take time to explain your health condition, superior health care, and very friendly and efficient staff. I'm pleased my internist recommended her. Patients really seem to like her. Expect to wait a bit, but that's rewarded because she'll take lots of time with you, too. I highly recommend her.
