Curran Emeruwa, MD, is an experienced board certified urologist serving patients at Bellingham Urology Group in Bellingham and Mount Vernon, Washington.
Dr. Emeruwa is a native of Vancouver, Canada, spending his undergraduate years at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in psychology. He completed medical school at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, where he graduated with high honors. His urology residency training was completed in Brooklyn, New York, at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, where he served a diverse community.
Dr. Emeruwa is extensively trained in diagnosing, treating, and managing general urologic disorders and urologic cancers, including prostate, kidney, bladder, and testis. Dr. Emeruwa is delighted to offer his patients the option of top-quality, minimally invasive surgical approaches, including robotic-assisted surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System. He has performed and assisted in hundreds of oncologic and reconstructive cases, a significant portion of them under the first-hand guidance of world-class robotic surgeons at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan, New York City. He is an expert of penile implant surgery and endoscopic stone surgery.
His clinical interests are in men’s health, testosterone replacement and erectile dysfunction, BPH and voiding dysfunction, and complex kidney stone management. He strives to be a compassionate and caring physician by prioritizing patience and patient education.
He is an active member of the American Urological Association (AUA) and has authored multiple cutting-edge research articles on nocturia and voiding dysfunction.
Outside of his career, Dr. Emeruwa and his wife Avery enjoy the great outdoors, traveling, and listening to live music. They are avid sports fans and try to remain physically active by hiking or golfing. Additionally, they look to be continuously involved in various community groups and activities.
