My experience has been exceptional in preparing me for surgery, and during and immediately after surgery. I was very disappointed when I called the office to speak with someone about intense back spasms I was experiencing yesterdaShow morey. I could not move without pain and wanted relief. The person I spoke with explained that Dr Lent wouldn’t be in that day. I asked for a call from whoever was covering his patients. I was told someone would be in about noon and would return my call. I waited all day in pain and frustration with no call back. I spent a near sleepless night trying to avoid the jolts of back pain. I hadn’t expected this level of callousness from this office. I mentioned this during my appt today and got no explanation. My appt today was otherwise great and my pain addressed.
Dr. Lent has always been an excellent doctor. He took care of my mother many years ago and was able to relieve her pain. May be one of the smartest orthopedic doctors in New York. Just brilliant and his bedside manner is unsurpassShow moreed and makes you feel at ease very quickly. Highly recommend it. My problem unfortunately is something he doesn’t do which is give epidurals which is where I need help. But he did give me some good advice. I was wondering if there’s any way I can communicate with him via emails as He did let me know if I have any questions and want to come back feel free to do this. Thanks

Dr. Lent serves as the chief of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at St. John's Riverside Hospital in Yonkers, along with serving his patients at SOUTHERN WESTCHESTER ORTHOPEDICS AND SPORTS MEDICINE.
Dr. Lent specializes in orthopedic trauma and sports medicine and works with many local athletes. His expertise extends to joint replacement surgery, including robot-assisted total hip, total knee, and partial knee replacement.
Dr. Lent received his bachelor's degree from Yeshiva University in New York City, then earned his medical degree from NYU Robert I. Grossman School of Medicine, also in New York City.
He completed general surgery and orthopedic residencies at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York City, followed by a sports medicine fellowship at both the Staten Island University Hospital in Staten Island and the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
Dr. Lent has extensive experience in robot-assisted joint replacement surgery and is an instructor for Stryker's Mako® technology. He travels around the world teaching other surgeons about robot-assisted joint replacement.
He is a leader in minimally invasive surgery using advanced arthroscopic techniques, performing procedures such as ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) reconstruction in the knee and SLAP (superior labrum from anterior to posterior) repair in the shoulder.
