About Dr. David Severson, DDS

David Severson, DDS of Summit Dental Group in Akron, Ohio, is passionate about dentistry, continuously learning new techniques and staying ahead of the curve. This focus on education and staying relevant in his profession drives the way Dr. Severson practices dentistry.

Dr. Severson strives to build a respectful and trusting partnership with his patients. He carefully listens to their concerns and shares his knowledge about the best treatment options to provide the highest quality of care.

Dr. Severson began his journey in dentistry at the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio, which is also Dr. Chamblee’s alma mater. He then continued his education at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, where he earned a United States Air Force scholarship for his studies.

Upon graduation, Dr. Severson performed his military service at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. After completing his service, he returned to his home state of Minnesota for five years before making his way back to Ohio.

Although Dr. Severson enjoys most aspects of dentistry, he has a particular interest in dental implants, BOTOX®, cosmetic dentistry, and sleep dentistry.

When he’s not helping his patients, Dr. Severson enjoys spending time with his wife, Leah, and their eight children. He's a big sports fan, especially football, basketball, baseball, golf, and with his Minnesotan roots, of course, hockey.
