I am 70 years old and I have been seeing Dr Starch for over 20 years . He has performed multiple surgeries on me and always has done an excellent job. He is very concerned and very helpful. David Starch, MD, is a highly-skilled, board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and an integral member of the team at New Braunfels Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine. Through his role at the New Braunfels, Texas practice, Dr. Starch has the honor of enhancing the joint health of patients while emphasizing care of the entire individual
Education has always been central for Dr. Starch. He completed his Doctor of Medicine at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. From there, he went on to complete a residency in the orthopaedic surgery department at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
Fellowship training in orthopaedic sports medicine and arthroscopy at Baylor Medical Center in Houston, Texas, allowed Dr. Starch to further refine his skills and knowledge. He is proud to be board-certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and holds an additional subspecialty certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Starch is also a proud member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the Texas Orthopaedic Association, in addition to the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
Dr. Starch has a special interest in sports medicine, and his fellowship training focused on helping elite athletes recover from injuries and enhance their performance. He is proud to have worked as a team physician for the Houston Astros, Houston Texans, Houston Rockets, and Houston Comets.
He is the head team physician for Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, and Director of Sports Medicine for 10 area high school athletic programs.
Dr. Starch enjoys working with everyone from fitness enthusiasts to patients recovering from a traumatic injury or surgical procedure. He likes the opportunity to perform orthopaedic care across the full spectrum of needs and finds his work deeply fulfilling.

Dr. Starch is the best. I highly recommend him and his staff. My husband and I have referred many people to him. He’s an incredible surgeon, expert, knowledgeable, caring and kind. Very thorough with surgery experience & explained all the finding with the pictures. Supportive & encouraging with the rehab expectations. Took plenty of time to answer any questions & or concerns.

Follow up visit was good. I am most disappointed with my progress after surgery. A continuous double clicking sound when walking, some slight pain on the outside of the of my left knee, and swelling that has not dissipated completely after 5 months. Have been attending Physical Therapy sessions twice a week strengthening both the surgical and nonsurgical knees. Everyday activities have increased.
Dr Starch is a wonderful practitioner. He is kind and compassionate . He does a great job of explaining the situation and your options. I never feel like he is rushed to get on to the next patient.

Excellent doctor! I had a very successful healing & great mobility. Their instructions must be followed to the letter for best results (no matter how difficult!). He knows what he is doing!
Dr Starch led me from a broken collarbone through an 8 week healing process together with introducing me to an awesome rehab process. He showed me the process via x-rays as my collarbone .mended. . It is evident to me that he cares about more than healing, as he emphasizes rehab as well as continued strengthening following rehab.
He’s awesome! So caring, as all his staff is, from front office to the entire medical staff.

7 week x-rays and check up for broken collarbone. Range of motion unexpectedly high. Near normal Great inputs from Dr Starch on rehab needs and expectations. Dr Starch reviewed X-rays with me in great detail. Highly recommend this office for any bone issues.
Excellent service throughout. Dr Starch, his staff at the company and at the hospital could not be more helpful and considerate. The physical therapy companies that work with the New Braunfels Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine are also the best.
