After earning her bachelor's degree at the University of Illinois, Urbana- Champaign, Dr. Furlong completed her medical degree, internship, and residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, followed by a fellowship at Illinois Urogynecology, Ltd. Today, she is one of only a handful of surgeons to have achieved board certification in both obstetrics-gynecology and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery.

My online experience with Dr. Furlong was very helpful. I only wish it could have been about 10 minutes longer. I had two additional questions but another call on my end, was trying to come in and interfered with our call. That took away about 5 minutes. How ever I understand Dr. Furlong is extremely busy with trying to meet the needs of all her patients and could not extend me additional time. Dr. Furlong addressed most of my concerns at the beginning of the call, which was helpful.
