Donna E. Smith, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon treating patients at Cascade Orthopedics in Auburn and Bonney Lake, Washington.
She graduated with honors from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, Canada, and completed her medical degree and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.
Dr. Smith completed two hand and upper extremity fellowships, one at the University of British Columbia and the second at the Institut Kaplan in Barcelona, Spain.
Following her training, Dr. Smith joined the Vancouver Bone and Joint Clinic at St. Paul's Hospital and the Department of Orthopedics at the University of British Columbia as a Clinical Associate Professor.
Her clinical practice involved treating complex hand, wrist, and elbow disorders in an academic setting while teaching medical students, orthopedic surgery residents, and upper extremity fellows.
In 2002, Dr. Smith began her practice in Vancouver, Canada. Over the past 10 years, she has been active in the British Columbia Orthopedic community. She was the President of the British Columbia Orthopedic Association and executive member of the Society of Specialist Physicians and Surgeons of the British Columbia Medical Association.
Dr. Smith was involved locally at St. Paul's Hospital on the Medical Advisory Committee and an executive member of the Medical Staff. She was actively involved in curriculum development for the medical school and orthopedic surgery residency programs at the university level.
Outside of work, she enjoys many outdoor sports, including biking, running, and boating. She is passionate about ice hockey both as a player and fan.

Wonderful experience all around. I sustained an injury which I felt called for immediate attention and Dr. Smith got me into the office within two hours of my call. I found Dr. Smith to be compassionate and very personable.
I had a great experience as a first time new patient, Everyone was polite and cordial with a patient focused attitude. All staff and Dr. Smith were punctual and efficient nonetheless, they very naturally maintained a warm friendly "bed side manor". Everyone made me feel like I was their most important patient during my appointment.
