Dr Scott examined me and gave me an oral steroid. It was a 6 day process with the steroids and worked while I was taking them, but after I completed them, the pain came back. He asked me to get a CT scan, but I was unable to scheShow moredule the appointment because my mother passed away in Pennsylvania and I had to go back there. I called the office this morning (08/10) to see if I could still schedule the CT scan. I am able to. I explained the situation and was a bit disturbed. The person on the other end of the line showed little or no emotion or empathy and didn't offer any condolences for my situation. It may not mean much to people, but it was important to me. My thoughts on this is that if people don't show empathy for a loss, how can they possibly care about my ailment. The way people are treated shows character, whether good or bad. I am still going to give a 5 star review to the doctor, but the staff needs to be more friendly and tuned into the patient and what they are going through.
Friday March 26 I had a bad fall from my bike and landed with full impact on my right side. I had a reassuring consultation with Dr Douglas Scott this last Tuesday morning. I will see him again on April 16th at the HHI office. Show moreI wanted to add that I was most impressed with the HH hospital ER team that looked after me on Friday afternoon/ evening- notably Dr Urbanski, whose diagnosis - from looking at X-ray and CAT scan - was spot on. What impressed me even more is the fact that Dr Urbanski texted Dr Scott on Friday to let him know; principally that I would not need surgery and that the extensive surgery that Dr Scott performed on my right shoulder two years ago was still intact...Dr Scott confirmed this in my consultation with him. Rarely have I seen or experienced this excellent level of communication between medical professional. Very reassuring. I hope I can continue to receive the help I need the next few weeks so I can return fully to my routine notably my daily ocean swim which is essential to my health and well-being. Respectfully Inge Skjelfjord

I had my first appt with Dr Scott yesterday. My surgery due to a fall is scheduled for next week. My initial encounter with Boss personnel was favorable and pleasant. Dr Scott was informative, pleasant and efficient so feeling comfortable with the next steps.
Great and kmowlegable
Dr. Scott is a rare modern doctor who takes time to actually look his patient in the eyes and have a conversation. Excellent "bedside manner".He gave me peace of mind re. my shoulder situation. I have already rec him to five friends .
Dr. Scott went above and beyond in setting expectations and continuous follow up, even calling my cardiologist proactively when it looked like there might be a blip in my health. Thanks Dr. Doug! Ray O'Connell

Enjoyed the talk with the doctor. The entire visit was handled professionally.
Excellent compassion care. Answers questions clearly . Great physician!
I was so impressed with Dr. Doug Scott and Boss Orthopedics. After seeing another physician who only wanted to operate on my shoulder for partial tears, Dr Scott offered an alternate plan. After examination, review of my MRI and new XRay Dr Scott recommended trying a cortisone injection as a first step. I had my first night of pain free sleep in months. Dr. Scott and staff were extremely professional and listened and care. I cannot say enough how impressed I am with my experience with all of them and highly recommend this practice.
From check-in to intake and the doctor consult, this practice made me feel valued and heard with a real human connection. I appreciate their patient support culture.
Dr Scott is awesome - one of the best bedside manners I have seen. Great listening skills. Takes whatever time you need.
