I can not rave enough about Dr. Kavaler! I suffered uselessly for 3 years after surgery with a horrible doctor, who did not do things correctly. Nor could he admit his mistake. So I suffered until I was referred to Dr. Kavaler. AShow morefter one visit with her, she knew what needed to be done! She SAVED MY LIFE and my sanity! I mean that sincerely with all my heart. I was being driven mad by the 24/7 pelvic and vaginal pain. I had no hope. In addition, I was unable to urinate because of my previous surgery. I have had 2 surgeries now with Dr. Kavaler! She is beyond amazing! I was an OR Nurse, so I know how doctors can be. She is extremely competent, confident and compassionate! She knows her patients and it was obvious how much the staff loved and respected her. Her OR is as it should be! When many are scared, you know you are in good hands and she never leaves your side. It's not like this anymore in most OR's. Everyone is to busy to pay attention to the patient, but not Dr. Kavaler! She is right there with you. Part I was removing what the other doc did. Part 2, I just had about 10 days ago. I am thrilled to have a life and no pain again. It's nice to be able to pee like a normal human being! All this could have been alleviated. I would suggest, and have suggested her anyone and everyone who needs help. You will not find a better doctor for ANY gyn/urological problem. I have a life again thanks to the AMAZING Dr. Kavaler!! She is a blessing to all her patients!
Dr Kavaler was personable, attentive, informative, and helpful. Receptionists were nice as well, and the person who brought me back to the exam room and set me up there was really wonderfully friendly and pleasant. The Dr was Show morerunning about 35-40 minutes late in the mid-afternoon on the day I went. But the appointment was efficient/used time well. I liked that I could see the test she was doing as she did it on the screen, and that she explained very thoroughly what I was seeing. She answered questions well. She could have spent a little more time explaining possible treatment procedures, or asked if I had further questions, or suggested what to do if I had more questions. She also did not explain a confusion I have had that I mentioned several times - about how my experience (of the last 20 years - I have no small amount of time with it) - makes sense or is explained by medical info. That would have been really nice - my confusion was not relieved about that. However, I liked her, and we already had a lot of ground to cover. I would consider a possible followup visit down the road to have more time to ask more questions about this if it feels like enough of a priority to me. She is certainly a doctor I would/will go back to if I need further care. Thanks everyone!

Dr. Kavaler is one of only 500 woman urologists in practice in the U.S. After four years of Urology at the same institution, Dr. Kavaler concluded a post-graduate fellowship in Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery and Urodynamics at the University of California-Los Angeles under the tutelage of Dr. Shlomo Raz. A Clinical Assistant Professor of Urology at Weil Cornell Medical Center, she is one of the preceptors in the Voiding Dysfunction Fellowship at New York Hospital.

I wonder why other doctor’s office couldn’t run like this one ? I think this office is truly patient-centered to the smallest details. Two examples : 1. when I asked if I can have an earlier appointment because I had problems for a week it only took less than a 5 minute wait for the front desk to get me a next day appointment. When I was checking in, I noticed that although the office was very full of patients it was so orderly almost cheerfully. 2. the ultrasound professional a young lady attentively alternate her sequence of examination to address my possible bathroom needs as soon as she was aware. Dr. Kavaler was professional and caring addressing my concerns with clarity. I hope I won’t have to see her for a long time. But I would recommend her to anyone who is in need of a urologist.
