I was able to get an appointment in an acceptable amount of time for my condition, and I was seen within a few minutes of arrival after filling out a bit of paperwork (it probably helped that I filled out the medical history questShow moreionnaire on the patient portal ahead of time). Elizabeth York was both efficient and pleasant, and she calmly described everything she was doing and seeing during the exam so I understood what was going on and could relax more than I otherwise would. Afterward, she described my condition and treatment options in ways I could easily understand, and I was able to have all of my questions answered without feeling rushed. As a PA, she's limited in the type of in-office procedures she can do - if after conservative treatment I still need help, I'll need to consult with one of the surgeons - but I would definitely see her again for initial consults and uncomplicated procedures. My only minor complaint would be that I felt a bit rushed by the assistant, which seemed odd as I was the only patient there the entire time (my husband was in the wait room and said no one else showed up). Otherwise, everything went as well as or better than could be expected for the type of visit it was. Thank you!

Growing up as a high school science teacher’s daughter, Elizabeth always gravitated toward studying medicine. She received her bachelor’s in science from Boston College in Boston, Massachusetts, before beginning her career managing clinical research trials.
After spending several years in the research sector, Elizabeth realized she wanted to work directly with patients. She earned her physician assistant degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Elizabeth’s interest in colorectal surgery grew during her general surgery training, and she ultimately completed formal training.
Elizabeth is proud to serve patients struggling with anal pain, hemorrhoids, colon cancer, and other colorectal ailments at Fairfax Colon & Rectal Surgery, PC. She truly enjoys taking an active role in her patients’ health care management and well-being.
In her spare time, Elizabeth loves spending time with her husband, Chris, and their daughter. The family especially enjoys exploring the culture and diversity Washington, D.C., has to offer.

Elizabeth and her assistant were amazing! They answered every question no matter how quarky it was. And their sense of humor matched my sense of humor but it's easy to tell they will match your seriousness.
Professional, but painful and disappointing. My PA was helpful and knowledgeable, but I'd been in agony for 4 days and had hoped for some immediate relief.
