The staff are so incredibly kind and caring, they explain thibgs in detail so that elimiatws alot of anxiety about uaving procesures done to help woth back pain. I can ot say enough about how quicklu Dr. ellin Lin indersrand what Show morewas happening woth my back, took charge and had a plan of sctuon in leas than 15 minutes. Mich netter than the 1 year I spent woth anothe provider getting nowhere woth it and having prolonged suffering! Her team and Medical Assistant are great, as well as To y who helped with xray photos while Dr. lin was placing iniections in my back. This is a driendly, no nonsense but human and empathetic team!! I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else for spinal oain management the only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5, is because I asied about getting my pain prescriptions filled (1 IS NEEDED ASAP,) this was noted, but no-one ever asked me for my PHARMACY INFO so they can be called in BY De. Lin. Overall I am extremely with the care, and the coordination of xare woth other physicians, that I’m receiving from this clonic, they’ve made a vase difference in my outlook and life - and given me hope for things to get better (siin, not poke in 6 or 12 months,). hopefully will be living in less pain, soon, and able to get my life back!
Me gusto mucho la atención de la Dra. Lin, pero a la vez estoy frustrada porque yo esperaba tener calma para mis dolores lumbares, pero cuando me dio la medicación la Dra. dijo que era un calmante fuerte, pero, no me dijo de que sShow moree trataba y yo no conocía el nombre comercial de la prescripción, por lo tanto cuando descubrí que era Gabapentin no me gusto para nada. El motivo es que yo ya tome Gabapentin y con mi marido la suspendimos por el atontamiento y mareos que me provoca esa droga. Por consiguiente no la tome, ya que los efectos colaterales son muy delicados para mi, como persona de 80 años que vive sola y puedo caerme al perder el balance. Lo siento, pero ese tratamiento no puedo seguirlo. Si la Dra. considera una epidural en mis lumbares me gustaría hablarlo. Muchas gracias por su atención. Lidia Dimetman
Ellen Lin, MD, is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician and pain management specialist at Advanced Spine and Pain Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Lin graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She then went on to complete her residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) with some of the top neurosurgeons, trauma surgeons, sports medicine and electromyography specialists, geriatricians, orthopedists, and internists.
Following her residency, she completed fellowship training at the UT Southwestern Medical Center and the UTHealth Houston. Her extensive training has given her the unique ability to empathize with her patients’ pain conditions.
She decided to pursue a career in PM&R because it allowed her to focus on restoring patients’ quality of life through all-encompassing treatment plans. With a strong emphasis on the patient’s unique health needs, Dr. Lin is able to develop comprehensive care plans that help them regain full function and improved well-being.
At Advanced Spine and Pain Center, Dr. Lin is excited to be a part of the team to deliver compassionate, patient-focused solutions to alleviate pain and help you thrive in your daily life. Outside of the office, she is an interventional pain management specialist at the Texas Center for Athletes.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lin for about 15 years and she has been able to keep me functional and working! During this past year I’ve had multiple compression fractures in my spine and Dr. Lin has been very compassionate and supportive in helping me navigate into this next season of life as I transition into not being able to work. Every time I have an appointment each staff member has been patient and explained my procedures in detail.
Dr. Lin noticed what was causing the pain I was feeling and how it was causing my left leg to become paralyzed the more I tried to walk. She provided 2 Epidural Shots, one to each side of my back. I had pain and inflammation that was very debilitating.

I can say nothing but good things about Dr.Lin and her staff, they are all so friendly, on time and caring. I was referred to Dr. Lin for lower back pain that was radiating down my left leg. After the required injections that insurance company wanted RFT was performed. Since having treatment my pain has almost totally gone away and is improving every day. I have recommended her and will continue to express my pleasure in my whole experience with her practice and treatment.
Dr. Lyn has been helping me manage my back pain for 7-8 years and been very successful in helping my pain. Dr Lyn and staff are always very helpful and informative. My shots have been very helpful with my lower back its not a cure but it bring much relief.. Pain shots are not a cure, but helps with pain and last quite awhile.
