I’ve never felt more comfortable talking with a physician. When I first met Dr. Roman to discuss the surgery I needed, he not only patiently talked with me about the procedure and answered my questions but also helped me to have aShow more better understanding by showing me on his computer screen what the surgery would involve and explained how it would be done. I immediately knew I would be in good hands with him as my surgeon. His concern for his patients was also evidenced when he personally called me during recovery time in the weeks following to check on me, and then in our final visit gave me a thorough check over and explained what I could anticipate over the next several weeks in recovery. Dr. Roman is a patient’s physician; he cares and respects his patients.

Dr. Roman-Pavajeau completed his undergraduate studies at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia in 1984. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine from Universidad del Norte in 1989, where he graduated summa cum laude. Dr. Roman-Pavajeau then went on to complete his internship at Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario. He graduated as a general and vascular surgeon at Hospital Militar Central - Universidad Nueva Granada in Bogota, Colombia. He also trained at Baylor College of Medicine in general surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery.

Dr Roman is very considerate and willing to take the time to describe procedures. I felt like he cared and did not rush the appointments. He is willing to do the small items and not leave it to the nurses if it doesn't get done.

I had some complaint about my stitches and tried moving my appointment to an earlier date. Dr Roman called me a day after and fixed me for an appointment the following day. I was so glad to be able to see him on time to get my staples out. Dr Roman was very understanding, transparent and gives details of the illness. Also advices on the best way to get better. Appreciated that Dr Roman went through my family history, my many surgeries, etc. I met him first in ICU as he was explaining the surgery he would be doing. So that was the focus. He was very gentle and compassionate.
