Dr. Andry and his Surgical team .... "An Excellent Team" everyone in the "OR" were caring and very professional, I couldn't ask for anything better, all were very polite and professional. The pre operation and post operation nurseShow mores were fantastic and very caring. Lindsey the anesthesiologist knew I was nervous, she made me feel at ease explaining everything in detail, she was very caring. Prior to surgery I noticed that everyone seemed to work together very well, having a great time, the staff at Coast Surgical Center make a great team. Dr. Andry from the first time I met him, he was very professional and caring, took his time with me, explaining what the recovery time for this type of injury would be, one of the "BEST" doctors I have ever met. The staff was very professional very organized. My wait was less than 5 minutes. I first talked to the X-ray technician, Joel. Took down my information and background history. Dr Andrea came in and went over my symptoms of what wShow moreas going on he'd already see my x-rays that have been taking a few days ago he came up with a solution that was great for both of us he didn't insist on surgery which I really appreciated and insisted on doing some some less invasive processes. It was amazing to think that this doctor didn't try to push for surgery. I really appreciate that. Took the time to answer my questions and gave me wonderful solutions for how to take care of what was going on.
James Andry, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon focusing on shoulder arthroscopy and reconstruction, sports medicine, knee arthroscopy and reconstruction, and fracture care. He strives to provide the best in orthopedic care to his patients at Ortho 1 Medical Group in Chula Vista, La Jolla, San Diego, and Coronado, California.
Dr. Andry grew up in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, he went on to graduate from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center of Columbia University. Dr. Andry was then selected to complete a fellowship in shoulder arthroscopy and reconstruction through the American Shoulder and Elbow Society.
Following his training, Dr. Andry moved to Phoenix, Arizona, with his wife to start their family and built a high-volume orthopedic practice focusing on complex shoulder diseases, sports medicine, and trauma. In addition, Dr. Andry also joined the faculty as an associate professor of surgery at Creighton University School of Medicine and was active in teaching residents and fellows as well as designing new practical teaching techniques.
Dr. Andry and his wife decided to return to southern California to raise their family. He continues to treat a variety of shoulder and sports medicine diseases and diagnoses, including rotator cuff tears, labrum injuries, instability of the shoulder, arthritis of the shoulder, elbow injuries, throwing injuries, ACL ruptures, meniscus tears, arthritis and damaged cartilage, ligament sprains, as well as trauma and fracture care.
Dr. Andry is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the California Medical Association. He has extensive training and experience and will provide personalized, thoughtful care to his patients at Ortho 1 Medical Group.

I had an accident and fractured my upper leg bone, Dr Andry did the surgery to repair the fracture, 6 weeks later I am walking without difficulty using a cane just in case I loose my balance. I highly recommend Dr Andry.

Dr Andry repaired my hip December 2023 2 days later he sent me to Rehabilitation area and had good sessions with rehab treatments After 16 days I came home using a walker with minor pain. Great results for an 81 year old woman.
