Dr. Race is a fantastic doctor! No matter how many patients he has to see in a day, he always takes whatever amount of time required to address all of my needs and answer any questions I may have. I have a few chronic illnesses. HShow moree is a very knowledgeable doctor, whether you just require a physician for an occasional visit, or need consistent follow ups like I do. I have been seeing him for several years, and don’t plan on changing that!! Whenever I am needing a refill, lab tests, or a referral, his staff is on the ball. They have an in house lab, so you don’t even have to leave the office to get bloodwork done. If i need to quickly get in for an appointment and he is booked, they can usually get one of his very capable PA’s to see me. Every single one of his staff members are great, and are so friendly and sweet! I would recommend Dr. Race to anyone I know!!

Before committing under the care of this primary doctor, I looked him up to get an idea of whatShow more I'd be dealing with and found that he fits my expectations. He's purported to be knowledgeable and caring in his practice as well as a straight shooter with his diagnoses and remedies, which include life-style changes we sometimes do not want to admit, but that cannot be denied. Additionally, Dr. Race recommended me to one of the best specialist's for my particular medical situation, and to boot, one of this Specialist's offices is only two blocks away. So unless I move out of the area, they are a team of doctors that I'll stick with and any future specialists that Dr. Race recommends as needed. So if you're seeking an excellent Primary Care Physician, I "highly" recommended Dr. Race.
Dr. James E. Race, M.D. of Dallas, Texas, has more than 30 years of experience. With a specialization in internal medicine, he is the go-to physician for your medical home and primary care needs. He has many long-term patients, some of whom have been with him for all 30 years.
Dr. Race is a lifelong Texan born in Houston. Dr. Races’ Mom and Dad were both educators and stressed the value of reading and education. Growing up, Dr. Race attended Strake Jesuit High School before heading to Texas Southern to study Biology. While at Texas Southern, where his dad was a professor of biology, he got involved in animal research. After graduating, he headed to Meharry Medical College School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee. After medical school, he completed his internal medicine residency at Western Reserve Care System in Youngstown, Ohio. After residency, he completed a year as the chief resident of the internal medicine program. Dr. Race relocated to Dallas in 1988.
While in Private practice, Dr. Race has been involved in over sixty clinical research trials. This twenty- year thirst for knowledge ties back to his parent’s support and the research skills he learned in college. This additional clinical activity has allowed him to publish papers and win research awards.
Dr. Race has served on the governing boards of over a dozen healthcare organizations, professional associations, payers, and nonprofit groups. In addition, he is on the medical staff of Methodist Dallas Medical Center. He is also a past president of the Dallas American Heart Association, where he was twice voted the volunteer of the year.

My main reason for liking my visits with Doctor Race is the personal feeling that I get from his explanations of whatever I'm dealing with health-wise. I like to understand what's going on with my body and he takes the time and listens to what I tell him and explains it medically to me.

It’s always pleasant and Dr. Race really listen to the problems at hand works to find the solutions. I had a Brain Anerysium and I feel confident that I am getting the best care. Every one I know that had one during the time period I had mines has passed away & was bed ridden but I can walk with a cane! PRAISE GOD & THANK DR. RACE
