from my first consultation with Dr. Petersen he was very compassionate and cared very much about me and my situation. And continued that for many years throughout my diagnosis and situation. Myself working at a physicians officeShow more and being nothing but kind and compassionate, I feel his SOME not ALL staff can be very rude and abrupt yet some are very , very friendly so that frustrates me especially when you’re not feeling well. When you call there you’re immediately put on hold no one answers until it’s your turn I don’t like that at all. I never call there but had to only two most recent in months and today included and I feel like nothing but a bother to the staff and to Dr. Petersen if he wants to get rid of me as a patient all he needs to do is tell me which would make me very sad. I didn’t ask for what I have and it’s very hard to live with this going on six years. And today is a very hard and painful day… Kindness gets you everywhere and that’s not always delivered to me. So I’m quite disappointed the last time I had to call him via the exchange and then today I had to call the nurses line and I felt I was a bother to both the staff and to the doctor which is unfortunate. That’s all I have to say.
I've been seeing Dr. Petersen for a few years now, and he is THE BEST doctor I've ever had. I have never had a doctor who comes in and really takes time with you, talking about concerns, explaining in great detail issues, treatmenShow morets, and possible outcomes, as well as takes a genuine interest in you as a person, not just a patient. I had a complex issue where it took a lot of digging to figure out the root cause, and whereas most doctors wouldn't take it as seriously and just treat the symptoms, he worked with me until we learned the source of the issue and could really understand what was wrong to treat it properly. It took a huge load of stress off, and I'm forever thankful! Plus his office runs very efficiently. Somehow, even though he spends time with his patients, I've never had a long wait at all. They've got their process figured out. I've recommended him to countless friends and family and would highly recommend him to anyone else looking for a wonderful doctor.
Jeffrey E. Petersen, MD, FAAD, is a fellowship-trained dermatologist and MOHS surgeon at Missouri Dermatology Laser and Vein Center, which has locations in Fenton, Chesterfield, and O'Fallon, Missouri. He is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is an active member of both the American Academy of Dermatology and the American College of MOHS Surgery.
Dr. Petersen completed his dermatology training at Indiana University School of Medicine and a skin cancer fellowship in MOHS micrographic surgery and reconstruction at the University of Texas Southwestern. He has been practicing dermatology since 2000.
Dr. Petersen has been the Mohs surgeon and held Assistant Professor positions at both Indiana University and Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis. He has also lectured and taught both nationally and internationally about skin cancer and diseases of the lower extremities.
Having lived abroad in Europe, Dr. Petersen is conversant in French. Outside of the office, Dr. Petersen enjoys spending time with his family and coaching youth football and baseball.

I have been a patient of Dr Petersen for a long time. He is a kind and AMAZING dermatologist.
If you don't get along with Dr. Petersen then there is something that you need to consider in your own life. He is most approachable, friendly, and informative. He is at the top of my list among several other doctors.
Had a wonderful experience. Dr. Petersen and Chelsea took very good care of me. The doctor was knowledgeable and very professional would highly recommend him for anyone with any basil cell carcinoma.

Check-in was a little awkward. Lights were not turned on. Person working reception was eating a bagel and drinking something--like she hadn't finished breakfast before work. Dr. Peterson and the entire surgical process were outstanding. HIs communication about the procedure and what would occur at each step was excellent. 3 days out, I am happy with the results. The office atmosphere and professionalism of the reception staff were a little off-putting on arrival. Oh, yes, and a lady who had been seated in the reception area butted in front of me to check in. (She must have arrived before me and figured she was next.) That was pretty unbelievable.

Dr. Petersen is wonderful. he’s very thorough explain things and takes good care of his patience. He has done a great job on my Mohs. Procedure at the scar is almost completely gone.. would definitely recommend him to others

I've had several visits with Dr. Petersen. All of them have gone without a hitch. The doctor and his staff are true professionals. They do their jobs well plus make you feel comfortable during the whole procedure.
Got to my appointment early and only waited a moment to be cared for. Dr. Petersen was kind, professional and explained everything to me. Chelsea was also very sweet, patient and knowledgeable.
Dr. Peterson does great work and makes your visit a very friendly experience. Doesn't rush to get you out and helps to relax and make you comfortable.

Great doctor
Dr Petersen was kind and let me know exactly what he was doing and why. He took his time and was very thorough. I would recommend him to family and friends.
Dr. Petersen and his treatment room staff were friendly, concerned, considerate and caring. However, the receptionist working the front desk, welcoming incoming patients, was a bit detached and presented herself as uncaring. She could have had a bad day, but acted unapproachable.
Dr. Petersen immediately puts the patient (myself) at ease with his friendly approach, his competency, and with his instructions regarding the service given and any followups at home. The supporting staff is always polite and helpful. Father Bob D.
