About Jennifer Sommers, PA-C

Jennifer Sommers, PA-C, is a skilled physician's assistant dedicated to serving the medical needs of patients at Surgical Associates of North Texas. As an integral part of the practice in McKinney, TX, Ms. Sommers provides critical assistance in a wide array of surgeries, including hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, soft tissue surgery, thyroid surgery, colon resection, and surgery for diverticulitis, pilonidal cyst surgery, skin cancer surgery for melanoma patients, and minimally-invasive surgery techniques including laparoscopic surgery.

Ms. Sommers grew up in Houston, Texas. After earning her bachelor's degree at Tulane University in New Orleans, she completed a master's degree in the physician assistant program at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Ms. Sommers was certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and, shortly after, moved to Dallas in 2006. She joined Surgical Associates of North Texas in October 2006 where she enjoys helping patients understand their treatment options and guiding them through recovery. When not caring for patients, Ms. Sommers enjoys spending time with her husband, John, their two sons, and her extended family and friends.
