At first I was to get eye surgery with Dr. Arthur Cotliar. At the lat minute it was discovered that the Dr. was not in my insurance network. His son, Jeremy, was so I had to go through all the same test with Dr. Jeremy Cotliar. JeShow moreremy has a pleasant bedside manner and puts you at ease. My surgery went well and the follow up has been good. This is the second eye that the cataract has been removed. The first time with Arthur seemed more like an assembly line, go through all the steps and before the eye is healed, let’s make an appointment for the other eye. Jeffrey made feel as though he cares and that it’s not about making more money.
Doctor Cotliar’s staff were quick and efficient getting me in to see the doctor. Getting me through the paperwork smoothly. The doctor himself was kind, personable, direct, m to the point and reassuring. I especially appreciated tShow morehe young woman Ms. Ferreira who scheduled my procedures and did it an engaging, easy, efficient manner. I felt comforted and reassured in an overwhelming situation. She even recommended a new pcp for me and called their offices for an appointment to get me started. I had entered the doctor’s office anxious and stressed and left feeling much better knowing the people in the office were looking out for me. One of the better medical experiences of my life.
Jeremy M. Cotliar is a board-certified ophthalmologist at Eye Care & Surgery in New York City, which has two locations in Washington Heights, Manhattan, and another near the Grand Concourse in the Bronx, right across the street from Yankee Stadium. Dr. Cotliar specializes in glaucoma surgery, manual and laser-assisted cataract surgery, refractive surgery (LASIK and PRK), and premium intraocular lens (IOL) technology. He also performs Botox and filler injections in his office. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
Dr. Cotliar received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis and earned his medical degree at Albany Medical College in New York. Dr. Cotliar completed a three-year ophthalmology residency at Montefiore Medical Center at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. He then completed a year of training in glaucoma eye surgery at the University of California at Irvine, followed by a mini-LASIK fellowship with Dr. Michael Vrabec of Appleton, Wisconsin.
Dr. Cotliar is certified and experienced in minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS), including iStent, Kahook Dual-Blade goniotomy, OMNI canaloplasty/ goniotomy, Iridex micropulse laser, and many other procedures. Dr. Cotliar tailors individual plans for all of his surgery patients.
Dr. Cotliar is a member of the voluntary ophthalmology faculty at New York-Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia University, where he trains residents and fellows in cataract, glaucoma, pterygium, and other anterior segment eye surgeries.
Dr. Cotliar maintains his advanced credentials with continuing education to stay up to date with the latest developments in ophthalmology. He’s a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), and the American Glaucoma Society.
Dr. Cotliar has surgical privileges at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai in Manhattan’s East Village. He is currently accepting new patients and welcomes them to Eye Care & Surgery.
