The initial visit with Dr Harris was very brief and he essentially walked in the room, glanced at the lipoma on my neck and then told me we would need to reschedule and perform the removal at another surgery center under anesthesiShow morea. He was not very warm or concerned, did not ask any questions about it and did not even attempt to examine the location, which seems like something a surgeon would do before making a nonchalant assessment and charging a patient $150 for a glance. The previous mentioned is not where the 1 star rating comes in though, that would be more due to the following. Day of surgery I am scheduled for a 12:00 noon arrival time then get a call from the surgery center at 6:15am telling me that I needed to be there at 6:00 because Dr. Harris’ early appointment was cancelled. Not sure exactly where this fall on the unprofessional scale but when you are planning a ride to and from the surgery, the time is very key component on planning this. In addition, I have and 8th and 2nd grade student that I have to get to school in the morning and pressuring me to arrive 6:00 hours early, the morning of the scheduled surgery, is absolutely ridiculous.
Dr. Harris came highly recommended from a previous patient. Dr. Harris is extremely attentive and has top notch bed side manner. He did not let me wait in agony for surgery, I was able to get in for surgery 3 day later. He truly Show morehas the best well being & intentions for his patients. Thank you so much for getting me back to normal self . I even had to call and thank his former patient because I was so grateful for the care I was given from Dr. Harris and his team.
Dr. Jon Harris joined Rockwall Surgical Specialists in 2018 and sees patients in Rowlett and Rockwall. Dr. Harris is certified by the American Board of Surgery and specializes in laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He performs all manner of general surgery, including hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, weight loss surgery, thyroid surgery, gastro-esophageal reflux surgery, colorectal surgery, and many other procedures.
Dr. Harris is a native of North Texas and grew up in Denton, TX. He attended the University of Texas at Dallas where he received multiple academic scholarships. He went on to attend medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where he fell in love with the art of surgery. Dr. Harris returned to Dallas to complete his general surgery residency training at Baylor University Medical Center. During his residency, Dr. Harris participated in research to improve the fields of bariatric surgery, gastro-esophageal reflux surgery, and robotic surgery.
When he is not at work, Dr. Harris spends his free time with his wife Kirsten and their daughter Kenley. Dr. Harris also enjoys swimming, golfing, and playing the guitar.

I had a great experience with the staff. They were very nice and courteous. The doctor was very hands on. Meaning he didn't just have the nurse take off and put bandages during the after care. He did it himself! Thank you to everyone in that office. Oh yeah I forgot to say my wait times to see the doctor was very short.
We appreciate Dr Harris so much. He has been awesome throughout my unexpected surgery during my hospital stay and all the follow up.
