While waiting to see the doctor, i discovered that my portable oxygen had stopped working. I had two fully charged batteries. I could not get it to work. I told the receptionist at the desk that as soon as the doctor was in, that Show moreI had to be seen. I have COPD and oxygen dependent 24/7. I was taken right in and the nurse recognized I was not ok. She got a pulse-ox and put it on my finger. Dr. G came in the room instead of making me go to his office. Since my Pulmonologist is in the hospital, the nurse took me to his office where I was given a tank of oxygen. i assured them that as soon as I got to my car, I would put the air conditioner on and make it the five minute drive to my home where my large machine would be. The nurse said she would call me at home to make sure I was OK. She did the follow-up call I cannot say enough about the professional staff that this physician has. Doctor G is so accommodating and speaks to his patients with a genuine concern.
I just love Dr. Giannone, he is very personable and relatable. I had first seen Dr. Diannone in 2016 to investigate what medical options I had for weight loss assistance and I subsequently saw him over the next several years becaShow moreuse I ended up losing my insurance several times due to job changes. Each time I saw him he was non-judgemental and always remained open minded and helpful. I didn't have surgey until 2021 once I had reliable health insurance and was able to cover this life saving option of surgical assistance, gastic sleeve. Again Dr. Giannone and his team were nothing but positive and encouraging from pre-op, OR and Recovery interactions. I have continued to followup with his office to receive additional support in losing some additional weight after I found myself in a plateau stage and again he was very supportive and helpful. I owe my 2nd chance at health to Dr. Giannone and his team and I will forever be grateful! I can only give 5++++ stars because I can never express my gratitude in just words or rating scale!
Jonathan Giannone MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon at Advanced Surgeons in Valhalla, Carmel, and Poughkeepsie, New York.
After earning his medical degree at Rush Medical College in Chicago, Dr. Giannone completed his surgical residency at the University of Illinois-Chicago Metropolitan Group Hospitals. He then did his fellowship training in minimally invasive/bariatric surgery at Westchester Medical Center in New York. Dr. Giannone exceeds the rigorous standards to be a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
As an Assistant Professor of Surgery at New York Medical College, Dr. Giannone actively works in the training of surgical students, residents, and fellows. Dr. Giannone has presented at multiple national surgical conferences and has discussed new techniques in laparoscopic and bariatric surgery.
Dr. Giannone has privileges at Greenwich Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center, MidHudson Regional Hospital, and Westchester Medical Center. His research has been published in medical journals, including Case Reports in Surgery and others. He is an active member of the American College of Surgeons, American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.

I felt very comfortable because everyone was very professional.
I’ve been with this practice since I had my own gasket bypass over 15 years ago. They are fantastic. I would highly recommend to anyone who has an overeating disorder. The disorder does not go away because of the surgery. It takes a practice that understands the disorder to help you manage weight and build new healthy, eating habits.

Very happy with the way I have chosen to lose weight. I am not interested in surgery for weight lose but if I had a friend or family member who was interested losing weight as I chose or by surgery I would recommend them to Advanced Surgeon.
