Dr. Gottlieb is truly a wonderful doctor, a unique gem in today's world especially. He's very knowledgeable, kind and personable. He took his time to answer all my questions (many!). He reviewed my MRI with me, explaining everythiShow moreng he found in terms i could understand. Very helpful. He was warm and caring, invited my family to stay and listen to the plan of care as well. I came to him for a second opinion even though he is not in network with my insurance, because I know he is one of the best doctors in South Florida. He has performed 2 operations on friends and family of mine, one of which was extremely complex, with great results. Other orthopedic doctors who i know and respect refer patients to Dr. Gottlieb when a case is outside their scope of practice. That says a lot about a doctor... when he's the go-to guy for colleagues. His staff is stellar as well. So friendly, intelligent and helpful. The whole team not only treats you like a valuable, fellow human being (which would be enough in today's healthcare world), but they treat you like family too. Amazing. Dr. Gottlieb was referred to me by my PT who had, or was in then process of, rehabbing five of his patients; he wasn’t wrong. After 10 years of suffering chronic sciatica, the last year kept it more acute and bringing to a complShow moreete halt, any activity requiring me to walk more than 125 ft without blinding pain. As an avid nature lover with a passion for outdoors and wildlife photography, this condition had robbed me of enjoying any and every activity requiring two legs in forward motion. Anyone who suffers the agony of this nerve completely understands how debilitating it is and how much of your life is placed on hold while suffering through it. I had a lumbar spinal fusion procedure (known as an OLIF) on 3/11/2020 and by my 5th day post-op, I was walking 5000+ steps and climbing stairs 8-10 times daily. Dr. Gottlieb is very much a professional, but he is also a warm, compassionate human being who just happens to be a great surgeon as well. I’m forever grateful to the therapist who recommended him to me, and indebted to Dr. Gottlieb for handing me back my active life once again.
Dr. Jonathan Gottlieb is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon serving patients in South Miami, Florida. He offers a number of services to his patients at Minimally Invasive Spine Center of South Florida, including treatment for spinal stenosis, back pain, radiculopathy, and much more.
Dr. Gottlieb earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Florida. He later studied medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. After graduating with his Doctor of Medicine, Dr. Gottlieb went on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He completed a fellowship in spinal surgery at the Charlotte Spine Center.
During his career, Dr. Gottlieb has contributed to several articles published in peer-reviewed journals. He has also participated in the operation of clinical trials. He has significant experience treating patients, and he uses the knowledge he has gained to provide every patient with the best quality of care.
He also served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Miami School of Medicine for six years. Dr. Gottlieb is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, North American Spine Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and Florida Orthopaedic Society.

Everyone was nice and helpful. The only issue was when the orders for my MRI were to be sent to the hospital here in KW it took two days and when we arrived for the appointment Friday we were almost turned away because it was not signed by the doctor but it was good I had our hard copy signed that I was given on Monday in your office.

Attentive, efficient, kind
Having a surgery with Doct. Gottlieb was the best decision I could have made for my back. I had a herniated disc (L5-S1) and it was pushing on my sciatic nerve. I was debilitated and could no longer sit, sleep, lay down, etc. I could barely move; barely live. I could tell as soon as woke up from surgery that leg pain was gone. Six weeks later, I am living everyday pain free. Thank you so much Doct. Gottlieb for giving me my life back!
