About Dr. Joseph Morris, MD

Dr. Joseph Morris is board-certified in general surgery. He specializes in breast care and breast cancer management, thoracic surgery and vascular surgery as well as surgical management of a wide variety of malignancies. Dr. Morris also has considerable knowledge of abdominal wall reconstruction, hernia surgery, and workers’ compensation cases. He performs acute care surgery and many of those utilize a laparoscopic or minimally invasive technique to allow for a speedier and easier recovery for his patients.

Dr. Morris is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is board-certified with the American Board of Surgery. He is a member of the Society for Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract. He currently holds hospital privileges at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s, MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center, Pierce Street Same Day Surgery, Dunes Surgical Hospital and Riverview Surgical Center.

A native of Sioux City, Dr. Morris earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City and his medical degree from the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Dr. Morris is a dedicated and compassionate general surgeon at CNOS. He has been practicing in general surgery since 1991 and is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for every patient.
