I’m probably one of the few that doesn’t mind going to see the gynecologist. It’s always a hysterical visit. I’ve been a patient since 2003, as I called his office and spoke with his wife back then with concerns on birth contrShow moreol pills. Dr. Suhrer has a degree from Duke University, experience in obstetrics and decades of experience as a gynecologist. I’m frequently laughing at his office, as his sense of humor is similar to Chevy Chase. I’m nipping on the heels of menopause and want an experienced doctor who has knowledge from other patients. He keeps up with medical journals and new information from other doctors Nationwide, as well. Also, most of his staff has been there as long as I’ve been a patient and they maintain a high level of integrity with patient/doctor confidentiality. I’m glad to share my own input, but don’t want a nurse doing it for me unless I have given permission. This is important and should be at all levels & areas of medicine.

He’s a Duke graduate & keeps up with reading alShow morel the latest on GYN. His nursing staff is very professional and discreet, too. If you have questions on menopausal symptoms, or anything else with childbirth or well woman care, I’d recommend this practice.
Julian Stephen Suhrer, MD, enjoys helping his patients find solutions for all their women's health concerns. Dr. Suhrer is an experienced OB/GYN who has been a valued member of the Florida Woman Care of Jacksonville team, with two locations in Jacksonville, Florida, for many years.
After growing up in Jacksonville, Dr. Suhrer chose to attend Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He graduated cum laude with a degree in chemistry and went on to the University of Florida College of Medicine in Tampa. Dr. Suhrer soon focused his attention on the field of obstetrics and gynecology. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Florida Health Jacksonville, serving as administrative chief resident.
Dr. Suhrer later entered private practice in Jacksonville for eight years. He also practiced in Kentucky for several years but felt drawn back to his hometown. He returned to Jacksonville in 1989 and once again became one of the area's most trusted OB/GYNs.
During his many years as a practicing physician, Dr. Suhrer has gathered a long list of certifications and professional credentials. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Suhrer is also a member of the Florida Medical Association and the Duval County Medical Society.
In his practice, Dr. Suhrer focuses on patient education. He works tirelessly to provide patients with up-to-date medical information and advises patients on contraception and family planning. Dr. Suhrer also specializes in treating menstrual irregularities, incontinence, and menopause symptoms.
When not working with patients, Dr. Suhrer enjoys hiking, swimming, and spending time with his family. He also has a keen interest in the fields of history and astronomy.

Dr. Suhrer is patient, kind, and understanding. He sits you down and talks with you, unlike many doctors. You are heard and understood and feel secure in the recommendations he makes in terms of your health and well being. The office staff is also kind and understanding.
