I am informed of what the doctors issues with me are. And I understand them. But I was under the impression that if I did what the doctor had ask me to do, I would be scheduled my back surgery that would alleviate quit a bit of thShow moree pain I endure everyday of my life at this appt. I went to today. Now I have to take more steps in getting to the point where I can have this surgery and it is very disheartening that I shall have to go thru this pain even longer. But if I have to I will , because the quality of life I have at the moment is not at all good. So I am just saddened that it is going to take even longer than what I was told. I did everything and more to make sure I was getting strong enough that the doctor told me to do.
This is my 1st experience in my 62 yrs with surgery. I was a bit nervous I have to admit… this was a surgery on my spine to alleviate a pinched nerve. I was referred “urgent” to Dr Woods due to my deteriorating condition by a paiShow moren Specialist (Dr Soin). I was told he was the best. Dr Woods was very thorough in diagnosing my condition, ordering nerve testing and additional MRI to pinpoint my issue. He is great to work with, easy to talk with and listens and takes notes of your questions and concerns. All of my fears were removed before the surgery and I felt I was in great hands. My surgery was a great success as well as my follow up visits. I look forward to working with his PT dept in my recovery process. Thank you Dr. Woods to you and your Staff! I am so blessed.

Dr. Woods earned his medical doctorate (MD) from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California. He recently completed his Master of Business Administration at Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business in Baltimore, Maryland.
Prior to establishing Vertrae®, Dr. Woods worked in academic neurosurgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he taught medical students and residents. He moved with his wife and kids to Dayton, Ohio, to embrace the role of Network Medical Director of Neuroscience for a network of hospitals. Dr. Woods holds hospital appointments at several hospitals in the Great Dayton region. However, he is now an independent private practice neurosurgeon. He is a member of the Ohio State Medical Association, Ohio State Neurosurgical Society, North American Spine Society, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and California Medical Association.
As Dr. Woods recalls, it all started one Sunday afternoon in the fall of 2015 while chatting with his wife on an open terrace in Temecula Wine Country, Southern California. The weather was perfect! Beautiful vineyards provided the backdrop. Everyone was smiling and relaxed. Could we learn something from this experience that would inspire the way we deliver health care? It became their obsession to understand what experiences and emotions their patients really wanted and they promised to work as hard as they could to deliver such an experience. Seeing Dr. Woods for 2nd opinion. He confirmed what I had already told 2 other doctors as to what my problems were. I am very happy I found Dr. Woods. I've previously had 8 spine surgeries and 3 fusions by other surgeons. I'm also a retired nurse of 35yrs and a Healthcare Administrator. I knew what my new primary issue was but 2 Orthopedic Surgeons would not hear me and said I wasn't a surgical candidate. I have full trust in Dr. Woods and his treatment plan.
