About Katherine Lara, ND, LAc

Dr. Lara is a dedicated Naturopathic physician and acupuncturist completing her second-year residency with Dr. David Chang. She has special interest in integrative naturopathic care, acupuncture, sports medicine, non-surgical orthopedic medicine, endocrinology, menstrual cycle regulation, and overall health optimization.

Dr. Lara earned a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and Masters in Classical Chinese Medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR. She received extensive training in general medicine, integrative naturopathic care, and a variety of acupuncture modalities. Additionally, she had the privilege of working with diverse communities in community outreach clinics including providing acupuncture for patients undergoing addiction recovery and naturopathic primary care for Spanish speaking communities. Furthermore, her education equipped her with a deep understanding of natural therapies including nutraceuticals, nutrition, stress-management, and lifestyle modifications to promote wellness. She has completed additional training in regenerative injection therapies and orthopedic acupuncture techniques to further understand and address musculoskeletal complaints.

She believes in the body's wisdom and innate ability to heal when provided the right tools to support it. Her mission is to work alongside with her patients and though patient education, empower them to actively participate in their health while addressing the root causes of their health concerns and providing comprehensive care that considers body, mind, and spirit.

Dr. Lara is of Mexican descent and fluent speaker of both Spanish and English, whom was raised close to her cultural roots. She is dedicated in providing care that unites language and cultural barriers.

Outside the clinic, Katherine enjoys recharging in the outdoors, traveling, following sunsets, and loves a good pastry or pan dulce (Mexican sweet bread).
