Kathy is a licensed marriage and family therapist (tLMFT) who specializes in helping adults manage relationship issues, trauma, PTSD, life transitions, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and self-esteem challenges. She offers a compassionate, non-judgmental, and supportive environment for increasing self-understanding, overcoming obstacles, and improving overall well-being. She collaborates with each client to create a plan for reaching the goals they bring to therapy.
Kathy loves helping couples build stronger, healthier relationships. The Gottman Method, integrated with other evidence-based models, is her framework for guiding couples toward deeper friendship and intimacy and enhanced communication and conflict management skills. She also offers Discernment Counseling for couples on the brink of divorce.
To support clients in their healing of inner conflicts and wounds, self-exploration, and personal growth, Kathy uses primarily IFS, Family Systems, CBT, Complicated Grief Therapy, psychoeducation, and somatic interventions.
Kathy earned her Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Touro University. She also holds a PhD in Spanish from the University of Illinois. Prior to becoming a therapist, she worked in higher education and as a translator/interpreter (English/Spanish), experiences that have enriched her ability to support a diverse range of clients.
