Dr. Dean is a true professional and very precise in how he handles a patient's maladies. His rehab protocol was perfect for me and I back walking full speed with in four weeks after surgery...and, I should mentioned that he did boShow moreth left and right knee replacements within five months. He has done over 5000 knee replacements and his experience and precision is what sold me. My wife has also gone in with a knee cyst issue and a shoulder/elbow problem and was very happy with Dr. Dean's professional approach. Their office staff is outstanding (they actually call back and take care of business). And last but certainly not least, Emory, Dr. Dean's PA, is fantastic! I would recommend Dr. Dean and his staff to anyone looking for an outstanding orthopedic surgeon...no questions asked...the best!
When I researched orthopedic surgeons in the Bluffton area, Dr. Dean's name kept appearing as 'the best' to repair my serious (and fairly uncommon) shoulder injury. The MRI on a Thursday confirmed his diagnosis and he scheduled meShow more for surgery the following Monday as time was of the essence for a successful outcome. It didn't matter that his surgery schedule for that day was already full, he accommodated me. At all of my follow-up visits, Dr. Dean and his P.A. Emre have been very thorough and have taken time to answer all my questions to my satisfaction. They are kind, caring and professional. His Hilton Head office staff have also been very courteous and helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Dean for your orthopedic needs!

Always a great experience with Dr. Dean, his team, and everyone at BOSS. Highly recommend.
Dr. Dean was a great communicator in describing details of X-ray and future process for treatment and for emergency! Really appreciated his clarity! Would be happy to recommend him!

Dr. Dean and the office staff are very kind and professional, great first experience with them!
The best Doctor in town
Excellent explanation of my problem and great explanation of my choices plus his recommendations.
Dr Dean is excellent at diagnosing and identifying options.
Very good communicator.
No waiting - thorough - professional
Dr. Dean always takes the time to explain all treatments and answers questions. I Appreciate his candor. His staff are always very helpful and kind.
Doctor Dean was thorough and explained everything very clearly.
Dr. Dean is awesome!!!! I would highly recommend.
Dr. Dean is incredible, one of the best Doctors that I have ever had the opportunity to get seen by. Highly recommend him and BOSS Orthopaedics.
I’m happy that I took Dr. Moorefild’s and my good friend’s suggestion to see Dr. Dean. I feel that getting a second opinion about my right knee and it’s partial knee replacement is the correct way to go to help lessen the pain. I will see him again in June about shoulder issues. Thanks Doctor
Dr.Dean is the best of the best! He has operated on me and advised me for the past 20+ years. Thanks for your honest appraisal of current problem.
Dr Dean noted the concern I had about the reverse shoulder replacement vs anatomical. He assured me that he understands my preference for anatomical for better mobility. His plan is to go anatomical to satisfy my active life but not compromise long term mobility. I am confident that Dr Dean will make the right decision for me during surgery.
Always have a great experience on an unfortunate issue when shoulder was done several years ago in great shape now the other so I have 100% confidence and would recommend not only the doctor but the procedure
Comprehensive interactive explanation and discussion of the condition of my knee and strategy for its recovery.
Felt very good getting a favorable diagnosis and Dr Dean’s knowledge and assurance made me feel good. The BOSS staff as a whole was great. From the Doctors to the physical therapists. The experience was always geared towards my needs and I really appreciated the empathy in which my whole experience was handled.
I was extremely impressed by Dr. Dean. Even though he is reputed to be a very busy orthopedic surgeon in terms of patient volume, he spent more than adequate time with me discussing my condition, examining me, and discussing the results of the MRI that I had taken of my left shoulder. He also was very "conservative" in his approach; he did not recommend surgery for my condition when I had been told by another orthopedic surgeon that I needed surgery.
Very professional and thorough. He spent adequate time with me and answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. Excellent experience. J A Torani
I LOVE Dr.Dean, and staff. ❤️ I had a Miniscus tear surgery on my right knee. Before surgery I had TREMENDOUS pain and could not stand or walk. Immediately after Surgery I was able to walk out of the surgery center with that pain GONE. 8 weeks later I am completely mobile, no pain, no restricted movement.
Unfortunately, I had to wait over an hour to see Dr. Dean. But he is the best shoulder surgeon!
Very professional but friendly.
Dr. Dean did a reverse left shoulder replacement two years ago and it is like a new shoulder. He also did some serious rotator cuff surgery on my right arm four years ago and that shoulder is also doing well.
Dr dean is knowledgeable and honest and a very good surgeon
Outstanding patient interaction. Was very thorough in explaining all the aspects of both my MRI results and all available options.
