About Matt Hawkins, MPAS, PA-C

A skilled physician assistant, Matt Hawkins MPAS, PA-C, often works with patients on both sides of the operating room. At Orthopaedic Specialists in Nashville, Dickson, and Ashland City, Tennessee, Matt assists patients in the clinic. But he also provides care at hospitals throughout the greater Nashville area.

A Nashville native, Matt completed his undergraduate degree at Lipscomb University. He then enrolled in a graduate program at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. There, Matt graduated at the top of his class and earned his Master's in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS). 

At Orthopaedic Specialists, Matt specializes in sports medicine and osteoarthritis. He provides valuable assistance to Dr. Downs during total joint replacement surgeries. Matt enjoys treating his patients in a variety of settings, and he works at all of the practice's locations. 

As a practicing PA, Matt is a fellow member of both the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants. He's active within the medical community and continually researchers cutting-edge orthopedic techniques.

When he isn't assisting patients, Matt enjoys spending time with his family. As an active athlete, he takes special pride in helping injured patients regain their health and mobility.
