The experience with the nurse and physician was great and they made me very comfortable; however, the staff at the front desk was inexperienced, rude, judgmental, and blurted all of my information as well as my wife’s out loud andShow more was specifying our name. They were going over my chart and was talking about all of the questions that were answered like it was their amusement. I was the only patient in the back and could hear all of it. When I left, a friend of one of my family members who has been one of my worst influences in my life, (my parents), were sitting in the lobby and heard everything that was said about mine and my wife’s personal information and reasons we were there. It was very humiliating and it should be kept private. I have been trying to stay away from my negative influences and this just opened another doorway for them. So much for privacy and HIPPA. I am giving five stars only for the reason that I thought the nurse and the doctor was amazing and did an excellent job.
Dr. Shokat and his staff are Amazing. I was in terrible shape, couldn't stand up straight, and the pain was unbearable. After visiting Dr. Shokats office I was scheduled for the First Nerve Block. I was Amazed, the pain was disapShow morepearing as the procedure was being done. I knew immediately that I had just been given my Life back. As I continued with Nerve Blocks I found more and more relief, and, the more I could do, because of the Nerve Blocks. I would Whole Heatedly Recommend Dr. Shokat to Everyone experiencing back pain. The staff is wonderful, from the minute you walk through the door, through your appointment, you are greeted with big smiles and open arms. I Love Dr. Shokat and his Team, and will be Forever Thankful for being given my Life Back. It's a Wonderful thing that they do, and I am Proud to be a part of it.
Max S. Shokat, DO, is a board-certified pain management physician who serves patients at Southern Interventional Pain Center in Thomasville, Georgia, and Lake City and Tallahassee, Florida. He is passionate about caring for his patients with a whole-body approach, offering non-operative pain relief for a variety of conditions, and providing effective solutions.
Dr. Shokat received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey, now known as Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to complete a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, and a fellowship at the University of Florida Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Institute in Gainesville, Florida, specializing in the non-operative treatment of spine, joints, bones, muscles, and nerve pain.
He is board-certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine and the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Shokat began his medical career as a combat medic for the United States Army Reserves. Today he stays on the cutting-edge of his industry, conducting valuable research, presenting at conferences, and publishing articles in professional journals. Dr. Shokat has received many honors for his work and is an active member of several professional associations, including the American Osteopathic Association, Georgia Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and Florida Osteopathic Medical Association.

Dr. Shokat is a very good doctor who cares about patients. I had a trial spinal cord implant done today and everything seems to have gone smoothly. I will see how things go this week of the trial. Hopefully it will give me relief from pain. I would recommend his practice to anyone. From the front desk to the doctor, everyone is pleasant and attentive to ur needs.

This is one of the best practices I’ve ever been to. Everyone works great together for the well-being of the patient.. it’s nice to see smiling and friendly faces when you don’t feel great or are having a procedure done. They listen and do everything they can to get you on the right track to feeling better. I couldn’t recommend them enough!

Very informative and he listens to your specific needs and adjusts your treatment accordingly. Staff is very helpful and very personable. They handle everything with the insurance pirates so you don't have to.

I was very afraid of getting a Injection in my lower back, very nervous. I went to my first appointment for the injection, did not get it because I was so afraid. I made another appointment because my Pais continued to really hurt. Went back for the injection , they made me feel so comfortable and I was stressing for nothing. The injection was not bad at all. Day later I'm starting to feel much better. If you are bothered with pain, I recommend this doctors office, from a retired Veteran take my word.

The Nursing staff and doctors are very kind and very thorough.
Everyone was extremely attentive and kind during prep time to get me ready for Dr Shokat to give me the injection in my shoulder. Dr Shokat was very pleasant, as he always is, and took his time in determining best site to inject to provide most and longest lasting time of pain relief As always, I was very pleased with care I received at SIPC and would recommend this practice to anyone suffering from chronic pain.
