Dr. Asgeri is a very competent and professional practitioner -- I was very impressed with his thoroughness and analysis. However, the management of his schedule leaves a lot to be desired. That is why he scored only 3 stars. UShow morepon arriving early (as a first time patient, I was directed to do so), I ended up waiting for about an hour to see the doctor as scheduled. I can understand the fact that he had 3 separate emergency procedures to do during the day, but that is not an excuse for failing to notify (e.g., via text) patients ahead of their scheduled appointment that the doctor is "running late." The office has spared no effort to remind and confirm with the patient, that they have an appointment; the office policy is also to assess a penalty for not showing up to an appointment. So, the practice should acknowledge that a patient's time is just as important as the doctors -- use the technology already in place to notify all patients that the appointments are running behind schedule as soon as it exceeds 15 minutes.
My appointment time was 11am. I was taken to a treatment room at 11:40. I gave my information, reason for visit, etc to the first medical assistant and again in more detail to the interning PA. Finally, Dr. Asgeri entered the rShow moreoom and discussed my issues. He prescribed a number of prescription and over the counter medications which were sent to my pharmacy and for which I was not given a written record so that I could what they are and what they're for. He left the room without giving me an opportunity to discuss them. I then was taken to the scheduler for a colonoscopy. I felt a quite rushed and left with the perception that Dr. Asgeri doesn't give patients much time to absorb and understand what might be wrong and how to address it.

Mehrdad Asgeri, MD, is a nationally recognized gastroenterologist who is board-certified in both gastroenterology and internal medicine. Dr. Asgeri began his journey in medicine at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, where he earned his medical degree in 1992. He completed three years of basic science DNA research before commencing his internal Medicine Residency at Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Asgeri then accepted two fellowship programs — one in gastroenterology at MetroHealth System, Case Western Reserve University, and another in advanced endoscopy at the University of Rochester.
Dr. Asgeri consistently ranks among the top 10% of practicing gastroenterologists nationally. I appreciated the manner in which Dr. Asgeri addressed my situation and the way he outlined the procedures he thought would be of most benefit to me. What was really amazing was how quickly the authorization was processed and how quickly I was seen. I had been referred to him through friends who thought he was the best. It is with that assurance as well as my own encounter that I can make the same recommendation.
