I'm looking forward to her counsel through every phase of whatever this life has in store for me. The ease of making aShow more regular appointment is fantastic. For emergencies, you may be competing with other lifers that made their appointment months or even a year in advance. Dr. Norlin is worth every bit with her uncanny ability to remember DETAILS to your personal stories, the way she explains things; the good and the bad and overall just makes me feel like she's in my corner. I enjoy parking right there at the North Grant park Garage, easy peezy. I really do think we could have been very good friends had we met under different circumstances... lol!
I love Dr. Norlin. I do think some of the other staff could be more informed/sensitive. I lost my baby in February at 21 weeks, and I was in Friday for a fertility consult. I asked for a flu shot, and the nurse said, “you aren’t aShow moren OB patient,” so I couldn’t have one. I have had two pregnancies at the practice and am trying very hard to have a third, so hearing that was difficult, especially because the last time I was in the office I found out my baby was unlikely to survive.
Mia Norlin, MD, helps women of all ages manage their gynecologic and obstetric health. She practices at The Association for Women’s Health Care, serving patients in The Loop in Chicago, as well as in the Northbrook office.
She specializes in family planning, adolescent care, and perimenopause and menopause. She enjoys managing both high- and low-risk pregnancies and multiple gestations. She truly is committed to the entire obstetrical process and works hard to make it a pleasant experience for her patients. She offers and manages treatment plans for women with abnormal Pap smears. She also provides minimally-invasive gynecologic surgery, including operative hysteroscopy and laparoscopy.
Dr. Norlin graduated from Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania with a B.A. in biology and a minor in Women’s Studies. She attended medical school at the University of Florida in Gainesville, and did her internship and residency at the Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio.
She’s currently on faculty at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and affiliated with Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Prentice Women’s Hospital in Chicago. Her accolades include a number of teaching awards from OSU, Chief Resident of the Year from OSU in 2001, and numerous teaching awards from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

Dr. Norlin is amazing, and the other staff I encountered were very personable and helpful. The office itself felt very old and dingy. I will always go for Dr. Norlin, but if I were pregnant and visiting more frequently, having to provide samples, getting blood drawn more often, etc., I would be very disappointed with the facility. A doctor’s office doesn’t need to be fancy or flashy, but “dingy” is very close to feeling dirty, which is not what you want.
Dr. Norlin is the best! She is attentive, pleasant and caring, something that is a rarity with medical professionals these days. She even stopped in to tell me personally that she would be a few minutes late as she was attending to another patient. I highly recommend her to any woman seeking a doctor who cares about her and her health!!
