Dr. Hood was ok polite but he was not concerned about my pain you and I both know he is a doctor seeing the xrays he took as he already had a cat scan, he could have prescribed a few pills to help withe the pain till i got into neShow morerve doctor. this is whats wrong, people are going to streets to get pain meds because doctors dont care then they are laced with fetnayl. you had a cat scan you could see billing me for xrays is just another charge that the cat scan showed and it cost me insurance does not pay all. this is a problem for our medical field but no one seems to care for the patient that is in extreme pain anymore.

Michael Hood, MD, is a board-certified member of the Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), Southern Orthopaedic Association, Mid-America Orthopaedic Association, Arkansas Orthopaedic Society, and the Memphis Orthopaedic Society.
Dr. Hood practices General Orthopaedics with an emphasis on knee and shoulder procedures, regenerative orthopaedics, knee joint preservation surgery and patient-specific partial and total knee replacement. Dr. Hood enjoys providing care to local military veterans through the VA community referral program.
In 1998, he graduated as valedictorian of his high school class which led to his acceptance of the Cecil C. Humphrey's Presidential Scholarship. Shortly after, Dr. Hood enrolled at the University of Memphis. There he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in 2002.
He completed his medical education at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2006 before accepting a position at The University of Missouri Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program in Columbia, MO. He also completed his Sports Medicine Fellowship at Campbell Clinic in Memphis, TN in 2012.
Upon completion of his fellowship, Dr. Hood, a proud West Memphis native, opened his practice, Delta Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, in West Memphis, AR. Along with Fenter Physical Therapy, Dr. Hood built the Delta Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine, & Rehab Institute; offering patients the ability to seek medical treatment and receive their physical therapy all under one roof.
By 2018 he was named Physician of the Year by the St. Francis Bartlett hospital. In 2019, he opened a second location in Collierville, TN and incorporated osteoporosis screening and treatment into the practice.
Dr. Hood actively serves as adjunct faculty for The New York Institute of Technology - College of Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State University. In addition, the practice enjoys a collaborative clinical agreement with The University of Central Arkansas School of Nursing.
He provides sports medicine coverage for several local school systems including West Memphis, Marion, Earle, Helena-West Helena, and Forrest City. He is the team Orthopaedic surgeon for the Arkansas State-Midsouth Greyhounds men and women's basketball teams.
Dr. Hood and his wife, Ketrina, have four children: Olivia, Jackson, Annabelle, and Charlie. He and his family currently reside in Collierville, TN, and their children attend Briarcrest Christian School.

I’ve had 2 knee replacements in the last year. Dr. Hood has done an excellent job on both and even better, is approachable to talk over any questions. Now he also offers physical therapy and they do a wonderful job. I would highly recommend Dr. Hood and his staff.
I went to see Dr Hood because of soreness in my knee. A knee he performed surgery on 5 years ago. He X-rayed the knee and provided a very simple solution. He explained my situation in a way that could resolve the soreness and provided a plan of attack moving forward. I left feeling more knowledgeable about my situation and pain free. A 5 star Thanks to Delta Ortho Sports, Dr Hood and his staff.

Dr. Hood practices conservative medicine. Surgery was not his first choice for my treatment. Everyone there was very professional and friendly
