Strange that I'm getting this because I was wanting to send you and your entire office a note of THANKS! First, let me address that through my years of going to any kind of dentist, I've NEVER had but one good experience. I've bShow moreeen to your office twice and now I've had TWO good experiences! THANK YOU! When people have an abnormal fear of not the Dentist or Doctor but the actual profession, it's great to find someone with compassion and who makes you feel at ease. The professionalism is certainly nice but just the over all welcoming atmosphere and caring attitudes from everybody in the office is beyond appreciative. Dr. Nichols was absolutely wonderful. He was so patient with my 9 y/o and his anxiety around dental procedures. They talked about basketball. He spoke to my son and made sure that he didn’t have any concerns or questions. Which maShow morede my son feel heard and he left saying, “I think I can do this.” Which is a big deal for him. We received a reminder call. They already had his x-rays from his dentist pulled up when we arrived. Scheduling the appointment, filling out paperwork online, speaking with the nurse, check out, and scheduling the procedure… all of it was seamless and made a stressful situation so much easier to manage. I am extremely grateful for Dr. Nichols and all of his staff.
Michael Nichols, DMD, MD, is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Oral & Facial Surgery of Mississippi, located in Flowood, Mississippi.
As a Mississippi native, Dr. Nichols received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern Mississippi, followed by a Doctor of Medical Dentistry Degree from the University of Mississippi in 1994. He ranked first in his class and was a recipient of the Wallace V. Mann Academic Achievement Award. While at UMC School of Dentistry, he became a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society.
Dr. Nichols obtained his Medical Degree from the highly respected University of Alabama. After completing a general surgery internship, he continued his studies in Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Alabama, currently one of the top programs in the United States. Following his residency, Dr. Nichols moved to Flowood, Mississippi to begin his oral and facial surgery practice.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Nichols holds an appointment as an Associate Professor at the University Of Mississippi Department Of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery. In this position, he has the opportunity to instruct undergraduate dental students and residents in a didactic and clinical setting. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Dental Association, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Central Mississippi Medical Society.
In his private practice, Dr. Nichols has an appreciation for the broad scope of oral and facial surgery. His training has prepared him to comprehensively diagnose and treat the hard and soft tissues of the face and its supporting structures. Dr. Nichols is committed to providing the utmost care for the patients that entrust him with their surgical desires.

Dr. Nichols is absolutely wonderful. His manner, caring, clarity as to what he’d do and as it was happening. Very efficient and pleasant. The reason for the 4 is when I went to get my prescriptions, BIG hassle bc my insurance hadn’t been notified. Back and forth w pharmacy and the doctor office. 3x I had to go down to get my meds bc one was saying I owed $197… problem bc I really needed the meds. They had given me a paper copy to take to the pharmacy instead of sending it in. Before I left the dr office they said they couldn’t call it in bc one of the meds is a narcotic. Anyway, big hassle.
