About Dr. Mike McCown, DO

The majestic backdrop of the Cascades, Olympics, and Mount Rainier inspired awe in Dr. McCown as he grew up in the Pacific Northwest. Though he has explored the beauty of other parts of the world, he believes nothing compares to the feeling of coming home. Dr. McCown graduated from the University of Washington and earned his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences. Dr. McCown is thrilled to work with Rose Medical Group, which shares his deep commitment to welcoming all patients and treating everyone like family.


Medicine called Dr. McCown to a path of service, and he quickly fell in love with the profession—especially the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and hear their stories. In an era when the U.S. Surgeon General has identified loneliness as a silent pandemic that threatens joy, purpose, and health, Dr. McCown is proud to serve as a point of connection for his patients. He values taking time to listen and engage in shared decision-making, believing that with a physician’s guidance and education. He believes that patients are the ones who best understand their own personal health journey and are the most capable of making informed choices about their care when informed.


When he’s not working to improve the health of the Vancouver community one patient at a time, Dr. McCown enjoys exploring local neighborhoods on foot, supporting local businesses and artists, and—on occasion—performing his folk-punk songs at open mic nights with his guitar.
