Dr. Rawala comes from Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Dow Medical College, Karachi. He later moved to West Virginia where he completed Internal Medicine training at Charleston Area Medical Center/ West Virginia University. During residency, he received multiple awards for presenting at regional and national symposiums. He was later appointed as Chief Resident at the same institution and led to multiple changes for the ambulatory outpatient department. He then went on to pursue fellowship in General and Interventional Nephrology at University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston. He was awarded the Best Fellow for academic year 2021-2022 and Chief Fellow for the academic year 2022-2023.
Dr. Rawala’s training has equipped him with the skills necessary to provide exceptional care to patients with acute and chronic kidney diseases, home and in-center dialysis, hypertension and all other aspects of kidney diseases and fluid and electrolyte management. In addition to proficiency in General Nephrology, he also specializes in Interventional Nephrology, performing minimally invasive procedures such as dialysis access management, and catheter placements.
He is a member of Texas Medical Association, American Society of Nephrology, and Renal Physicians Association. Outside work, he enjoys spending time traveling with his family exploring different national parks and learning new cultures.
